Weird, but impressive

Day I Lost Track.

Unplanned day off yesterday, just couldn’t quite find the time.

Easy pulling day today. I coulda pushed it harder for sure, but I really do these Yates rows like hybrid curls, so my biceps get pretty worn out switching back forth between those and the pullups. Plus I am in a pretty big calorie deficit still, so energy is not where it might normally be.

  • Pull-Up

    • 8 reps

Probably going for a run a little later, 'twill be plenty slow I predict.

Did a run as well, and kinda opened up my stride a little. About 8:22 average per mile, and second one was close to 8 flat. Tougher, but not a killer.

Still pushing hard on the weight loss then?

Calling it ‘pushing hard’ is a bit of a misnomer. Losing weight is, in my opinion, the easiest part of this whole fitness thing. But yeah, I will probably continue until just about when the gyms open, and then we’ll see what we see. Have lost about 11.5 kilo at this point, give or take (25 pounds), so there might be one or two more kilo in the bag.

Had to like this, then quote it to say that I also like it.

Primarily as I’m currently 40 minutes past my previous meal and 20 minutes away from my next meal, and I struggle with the timing of my Alpha Male supplement because it’s supposed to be taken on an empty stomach and I pretty much NEVER have one in my pursuit of weight gain.

I’m excited about an opportunity to not spend all my time eating.

I’m with you mate! Have a look at your neighbours to the south. We’re still in the “hold-out-for-a-few-more-weeks-so-we-can-have-a-merry-christmas-lockdown” that started November 1st god damn it!

Have you heard the theory that the WHO, through covid, is the rider on the white horse in Revelation? The rider is given the power to conquer the earth and has a bow and quiver but, evidently, no arrows, ergo is able to conquer the earth without massive violence. With the ongoing, coordinated, worldwide lockdowns over a virus with a 99+ percent survival rate, the theory looks increasingly correct.

Two quality posts, mate.

I don’t think I’m going to persuade anyone on here, so I think its best to stay out of it.

I had a post typed up earlier that I ended up deleting. One that was a lot harsher. But you’re right, I don’t see this as the place to have these discussions.

Something Something Where The Abs, etc.

Legs and abs today. Normal squats are pointless right now (and maybe in general for my crusty old ass), so just ramping up the single leg work. This is basically a bunch of “coulda done more, but don’t want to have my ass on fire for the next three days”. Bulgarians are probably the only exercise for me that really gets my glutes engaged properly, which is big checkmark in the Pros columns. In the Cons column, they fucking suck even with baby weights.

  • Dumbbell Bulgarian Split Squat

    • 6 kg x 6 reps
    • 10 kg x 6 reps
    • 14 kg x 6 reps
    • 18 kg x 6 reps
    • 22 kg x 6 reps
    • 10 kg x 10 reps
    • 10 kg x 12 reps
  • Body Weight Bulgarian Split Squat

    • 6 reps
    • 12 reps
  • Crunch

    • 30 reps
    • 35 reps
    • 40 reps
    • 45 reps
    • 50 reps
    • 100 reps
  • Ab Wheel (standing)

    • 8 reps

Been a while since I did so many ab rolls in a set. That might hurt tomorrow.

My mistake. I saw @Frank_C’s memes and totally forgot I wasn’t in his log. I wrote that post since people sometimes talk about the Bible there. Brain fog from posting right after a workout, I reckon. I’ll move it there if you want me to, @Cyrrex.

The main differences being that I always use baby weights and never do sets of 9.

Time to grow up and do what the big boys do mate.

I mean, if 9 reps is the magic sauce to actually grow muscles, I am going to apply it to biceps curls before bulgarians.

Everyone knows 9s won’t work for biceps. You need to do 300 like @T3hPwnisher
