Weird, but impressive

  • Wall handstand :heavy_check_mark:
  • HSPU eccentric :heavy_check_mark:
  • HSPU concentric :x:

That’s like 2/3rds of the job done.

Already messaged the coach. We are scratching strongman and are concentrating all of our efforts on beating old dudes from Denmark in internet calisthenics challenges.

It prevents me from arching my lower back when fatigued (need to strengthen my abs) and I can incline a bit more (more reps). I’ll try these next time

Man, that was some of the funniest shit I have seen in a long, long time.

Lockdown Day 24. Still no abs.

Off day yesterday. Boobies today, and I am a few days behind on these. Warmup with the straight bar, and then working up to a max 350 set on the DBs. The latter was both a PR and much harder than I thought it was going to be.

  • Barbell Floor Press

    • 27 kg x 10 reps
    • 47 kg x 10 reps
    • 67 kg x 10 reps
    • 77 kg x 10 reps
    • 85 kg x 10 reps
  • Dumbbell Floor Press

    • 22 kg x 10 reps
    • 26 kg x 10 reps
    • 30 kg x 10 reps
    • 34 kg x 20 reps (PR)
    • 34 kg x 18 reps
    • 34 kg x 12 reps
    • 22 kg x 20 reps

Also had a quick go with Bob, and continuing with this idea of doing broad jumps in between rounds. Hit a new PR at 249 centimeters (8 foot 2), and actually managed it a couple times. Probalby owing to practice and technique more than anything, but I will take it. Inching towards Wendler superstardom.

I’ve tried once to do a HSPU against a wall. I’m not sure what black magic y’all are using to let your feet glide in the wall. Only thing I can think of is to use roller skates

I used socks.

Yeah, if you do them back to the wall, you are barely brushing up against the wall, just enough to keep balance. Socks are fine.

Lockdown Day 25. Still no abs.

Quick and easy leg day. Trying to get used to Bulgarians again, so no specific plan other than to re-learn the balance and make it burn a bit.

Dumbbell Bulgarian Split Squat

  • 2 kg x 5 reps
  • 2 kg x 5 reps
  • 6 kg x 5 reps
  • 10 kg x 5 reps
  • 16 kg x 5 reps
  • 20 kg x 5 reps
  • 24 kg x 5 reps
  • 28 kg x 10 reps (PR)
  • 12 kg x 10 reps
  • 2 kg x 10 reps

Not sure why that is a PR, but my app said so, so who am I to argue.

Hey mate, same to you. Lockdown is both a blessing and a curse. The positive part is that I am getting in better actual physical condition, which is a good thing. I hit some good numbers during my recent Fat Gainz phase, but on the whole…not worth it. It is good to re-focus once in a while and try to remember why I am doing this.

Haven’t really been following logs of others for a while, so apologies for not checking in.

Why are you doing this? Except beating random internet strangers at stuff?

Because I am a pretty unhealthy person in a lot of ways, so training is one of the ways I try to balance that out. If I am also being unhealthy to support training (e.g. gaining weight), then I am not accomplishing anything. Other than occasionally beating internet strangers at some things.

Besides, I can be healthier and just find other things to try to beat internet strangers at.

Good to see you still suck!

There’s always something to push and still a lot of fun for you hopefully. I’ve only recently started logging again and touching base with people on here see how they doing.

Um updates from me would be I am coached now, I coach, I’m progressing-ish and I flared up my back pretty bad week of Christmas.

Edit: started a barbell club with the boiz by combining all our garage gyms. It’s nice to be around people after a COVID year. Have an open gym sesh with 3-8 peeps a few times a week.
