Weight Lifting Music
Der Candy wrote:

Don’t you understand how stupid it is trying to tell someone that their music taste is crap? What exactly do you hope to achieve bashing people over the net?
That maybe, just MAYBE people will stop calling shitty, half-assed, corporate radio cock suckers like Disturbed and Lamb of God and whiny emo bands that steal their little sister’s jeans metal. I hate that every time I mention that I listen to metal, I get to hear a thesis about how “heavy” and “melodic” Disturbed’s new record is. Dont get me started on Lamb of God. You like Melodic music? Lamb of God is only slightly less melodic than the shit I took this morning. But hey man, if you like hearing the exact same (terrible) riff for 12 6 minute songs, then thats your thing I guess.

I could very easily say that in my opinion those bands you listen to are full of shit. I hate death, black, and whatever-the-fuck-else-wannabe-hardcore metal because they all sound the same. Sorry for actually liking a melody in my music and not simply listening to some fag with long hair blare about the world ending.
Dont forget though, you were the one who said they liked Disturbed (fags with long hair blaring about the world ending) and Lamb of God (the most unmusical pile of shit Iv ever had the misfortune of listening to). Wannabe hardcore metal? You havent spent much time around heavy music if you think that the bands I posted are “wannabe hardcore metal” and that Disturbed and Lamb of God are somehow the real deal. You should probably stop trying to find new music using the WWE soundtrack. I get the feeling you are just making this up and really have no idea what you are talking about. Do you, by any chance, think Linkin Park is br00tal shit (hey, its very melodic, and that whole rap metal thing is totally original!)

The fact that you like their music is enough evidence for me to conclude that you have horrible taste in music and that, when it comes to metal, you dont know what youre talking about.

hhahah see this thread has been busy.
anyhow

Stronghold-first-notice i posted lip gloss and black for the song. It’s one of their old songs! i know that the new stuff is a far cry from what it used to be.

The whole listening to screamo comment, is entirely offset by your posting rap as a good workout song, rap isn’t exactly the essence of masculinity as well.

I’m not interested in rap. my listing chingy and 50 cent were based on the opinion that they suck. I don’t need nor want rap advice.

I don’t really listen to disturbed, but i’ll openly admit that i listen to Lamb Of God. I like them, and if you can’t find a melody, that’s your problem.

I didn’t call any emo bands metal, and all it takes to be considered metal is to have heavy riffs and rough vocals today, If you care so much about defining genre, then tell us what makes a metal band.

Linkin Park, i actually like a lot. i occasionally listen to their old stuff (their new album wasn’t the best), they were my gateway into anything not pop. in 7th grade i got hooked on them and eventually progressed into heavier and heavier shit.

Of your posted bands, Glass Casket is the only one i would listen to on a regular basis. I posted all those varied bands so people that like different genres could find something. If i wanted to post all grindcore/death metal, i would have.

Here are some heavier bands i like:
Otep-Warhead

The Number 12 Looks Like You-Like A Cat

Norma Jean-Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste

In Fear And Faith-There Be Pirates Among These Seas

All Shall Perish-Eradication

As Blood Runs Black-Strife

Cattle Decapitation-To Serve Man

I could have posted all these, but i wanted to cover a variety of genre, not just those 1-2.

Looks like no one on the forums like death metal, that makes me so sad

tear

Ill let the fact that you have Norma Jean on there slide since you have Otep and Number 12. At least its old Norma Jean. They dont call the new stuff trashcore for nothing. I still stand firm on my assertion that Lamb of God is a bunch of no talent bullshit. Honestly, if you want to listen to pummeling, rhythmic metal, then you should at least stick to the ones that did it first and did it best:

Meshuggah:

Living Sacrifice:

As far as rap making terrible lifting music, then maybe you should go watch some of the numerous Ronnie Coleman videos on youtube. I guess his choice to listen to rap while he lifts is really holding him back.

I have a hard time letting the fact that you like Linkin Park AT ALL go. Thats just terrible.

Nah, Ronnie’s GH abuse makes up for the rap. XD.

Touche.

But how many big guys do you see lifting to screamo?

Honestly, not many. Probably because i lift in a high school weight room. i can lift to any music that i enjoy, I’m really into music and if i enjoy it, i get a pump off of it. Though I’ve never tried, i suppose i could lift to opera. As a general rule, i just listen to what’s playing, most of the time it’s some medium-core stuff, but i don’t mind. Each man to his own

Hells ya. Betch looked at me. I see you’re still wearing a disturbingly short uniform. You wear a Thai cup under that thing or let 'em swing free?
Linkin Park

Whoever said Korn needs to die because they suck more than a gay man in prison and WHOEVER said coheed and cambria really needs to get checked out for a case of the ghey. Might as well just say “Oh, I totallyyyy jam to Coldplay While I lift my weights, It just gets me so hot and pumped!”

Oh, and I can’t forget
Avenged Sevenfold-Unholy Confessions

I’ve heard a lot of guidos in my gym listening to techno/house/trance while they workout and it just confuses me how they can get pumped off that…Of course none of them are considered strong in anyway.

I like a bunch of stuff but its mostly rap and metal. Eminem and disturbed are probably my 2 most listened to on my ipod. Chris Jericho’s old music also pumps me up idk why but its just awesome.

ttt

needed new shit for ipod!!!

ratm, chevelle, system of a down, tool, metallica older stuff, kill em all…

50 and methodman…

add to the list, i find w/ slower songs i really work the contractions and squeeze, faster shit and i usually handle more weight.

ttt

this shit gets me fuckin hyped !!!
