Weight Lifting Music

Thanks for the help everyone. I listened to a bunch of shit you guys listed and found some good shit to pump to. I went to the gym earlier this afternoon and had a very good lift. Thanks again.

I just put a surround sound system in my basement gym.

Death Metal gets me going, but so does ODB. haha

I went along time without music while lifting, it makes a BIG diffrence.

Rick Astley.

You guys are hilarious! LMFAO! I listen to hardcore rap music. But I also LOVE metal music while lifting. I had that shit on my mp3 during football season and on the field I went crazy. People were like “wtf is this doing on your mp3?” lol

chiodos-screamo

coheed & cambria-awesome

Job For a Cowboy-heavy shit

Sky Eats Airplane-screamo/electronica

Atreyu-GREAT BAND!!!-awesome guitar solo at 3:35

All That Remains-hardcore screamo- lyrics make me pumped as hell

should be enough for now.

When I am in the mood for old stuff:

Iron Maiden - Where Eagles Dare
Ministry - Thieves
2nd Communication - Mambofucker
Motorhead - Over the Top
Excel - Split Image
Queens of the Stone Age - No One Knows
Pail Head - I Will Refuse
Skatenigs - Chemical Imbalance

More I am sure but my brain hurts

The fact that you listed Chiodos first on your list of “great bands” is enough for me to never take you seriously.

Seriously, upgrade your taste in metal. PM me if you need help.

Extol:

Between the Buried and Me:

The Black Dahlia Murder:

The Dillinger Escape Plan:

Glass Casket:

Prayer For Cleansing:

And of course, it wouldnt be a lifting music thread without Pantera:

Chiodos isn’t metal. and I’m happy with my own taste, thanks. It’s post your playlist, not “great bands”. I have 3,300 songs on my zune, and have listened to em all. I just listed a few that can get me pumped.

However, in your defense, you didn’t say “PM me for some good music, like 50 cent and chingy!” I hate rap in the weight room personally, just throws me off. only thing worse than that is how my school weight room has the following on two of the discs:
SHOES-

You listed Atreyu as a “GREAT band”. Too bad they havent even been close to good since 2004.

Listening to screamo while you lift makes about as much sense as stacking estrogen with your dbol. Its science.

Oh yeah, and if youre looking for good rap music and youre listening to Chingy and 50 cent, then you are looking in the wrong places.

Check out Cassidy and Papoose. Theyve done some collaborations with Busta and even for someone who isnt that into rap like myself, its pretty sick.

Minor threat and Rise against are what I’m currently listening to during work outs.

Can you please stop your fucking ranting? He is entitled to post whatever music he wants, and not what you think is worthy.

I like listening to Disturbed.

‘Decadence’ - Disturbed - Decadence - YouTube
‘Meaning Of Life’ - - YouTube
‘Mistress’ - - YouTube
‘Stupify’ - - YouTube

Some other stuff:

All That Remains - ‘This Calling’ - YouTube
Lamb Of God - ‘Redneck’ - YouTube
Lamb Of God - ‘Walk With Me In Hell’ Lamb of God - Walk With Me In Hell - YouTube
Lamb Of God - ‘Descending’ - YouTube

And I am entitled to post whatever I want, even if it entails he saying he has terrible taste in music. Disturbed and Lamb of God? Really, for Lamb of God, you could have posted the same link for all three songs and no one would have known the difference. I was picking on him because Atreyu hasnt put out a decent record in several years…but Disturbed NEVER put out a decent record. They are a bunch of fad chasing old men. If you dont believe me, then go find the pictures of them from the late 80’s/early 90’s decked out in Glam gear. Its hard to take a band that sings about kicking your ass seriously after youve seen them in make up and feather boas. Once again, FAIL.

Eminem Till I Collapse

I always put this on for my lat set of heavy squats. It totally gets me focused and motivated.

Other than that I have mostly punk on my Ipod workout play list.

"Listening to screamo while you lift makes about as much sense as stacking estrogen with your dbol. Its science. "

That needed to be shown again…that said here’s my picks.

Cannibal Corpse - Make Them Suffer

Death - Flattening of Emotions

Spawn of Possession - Church of Deviance

Obituary - Chopped In Half

Vader - Wings

Decapitated - Winds of Creation

Suffocation - “Abomination Reborn”

The new Suffo isn’t too bad either

Cryptosy:

Necrophagist:

Through the Eyes of the Dead- SC’s very own…I love the sound bite at the beginning of the song:

Some Rap that even I can appreciate:

From A Second Story Window:

Scale the Summit:

Into the Moat:

I prefer not to listen to music either, can be a little distracting. Plus it’s better to be aware of the surroundings around you.[/quote]

its not a martial arts gym is it, where you have to be prepared for an attack anytime! lol!
