Weight Lifting Music

I apologize in advance if you think this is off topic, but I am currently in a little bit of a struggle trying to go to the gym like I usually do and throwin weights around with the holidays so close and everything. I think some good motivation would definitely be some good music. Anything anybody knows that really gets them pumped up at the gym would totally help me out. Thanks again.

korn blows.

Some good old Alice in Chains always does the trick for me.

Mandy Moore

I personally listen to garage and grime.
mind you recently i’ve not been listening to music in the gym and concentrated solely on my lifting and am starting to prefer it. let me know if anyone else feels the same!

*AC/DC
*Puddle Of Mudd

My new favorite pre-workout song.

Completely agree. The only reason I use an mp3 player is to drowned out the music the gym plays. I am working on putting together a home gym so when I have that done I will probably listen to music but the volume will stay low. I focus better on what I am doing that way.

Then again I vary a bit. I am always in a much more serious mood on leg days and max effort days, and that is when I like the music quiet or off, or grunge if I need to drown something else out. On upper body days I prefer something a bit more upbeat, so I’ll listen to more punk/ska stuff. Older 311 is also a frequent one.

Korn blows in Wisconsin too.

Opeth is brutal. Chevelle has some kick ass stuff too. Pantera/Metallica/Megadeth.

I prefer not to listen to music either, can be a little distracting. Plus it’s better to be aware of the surroundings around you.

Some days it’s In Flames, Every Time I Die, Soilwork, The Haunted, All That Remains, Killswitch Engage, and Children of Bodom.

Some days it’s Atmosphere, Mac Lethal, Grieves, Brother Ali, P.O.S., and Sage Francis.

Other days I just enjoy the silence.
