You can’t really deny that AAS make a huge fucking difference. It’s easy to say “Steroids don’t matter, you still have to train hard and eat well” when you’ve been juicing, because you don’t know what you’d look like if you hadn’t been using gear.

Now I don’t know if it’s a superhero drug, but seeing crazy results sure as hell is motivating itself.

Not juicing is just another excuse for being small and weak in my book. Same as blaming genetics.

So you’re denying that genetics and gear play a huge part in development? In other words, a 5"3 ectomorph could become the next Jay Cutler gear free, with enough passionate dedication and chicken breasts? Please.

I never said anything about genes and drugs making a difference or not. What I said was, they are used as excuses and that almost anyone can get big and strong.

Do you think Cutler would be small and weak if he had chosen to never juice? Unless you have maxed out what you can get with your genetics and natural hormones, you are just whining by blaming either one. I doubt anyone here has maxed out there genetic potential, so quit whining.

I disagree with you, hence I argue. How is that whining? I could care less that people are juicing, bodybuilding is an individual sport. But don’t come telling me I’m weak after sticking a fucking needle in your tricep.

I agree, Cutler would still be big and strong that’s obvious. I’m not saying you can’t get there without steroids man, my point is simply that it helps a big fucking deal. [/quote]

Actually, getting as large as Jay REQUIRES gear. Nobody has the natural capacity to carry that much mass.

I’m pretty darn strong, max bench: 345 and the more I think about it the more I credit it to genetics and training consistency.

I have noticed there are quite a few people who don’t know how to train and spin their wheels by not increasing the weight gradually, over training and not having proper nutrition.

I always look at peoples profile pictures before I take their advice. if you wanna get rich you ask the rich.

Once again, I’m not talking about people like Cutler, I’m talking about the guys that think they are at 165 because of their genes and lack of gear.

Okay fair enough. Those guys annoy me too. What I am talking about is people on gear that bash on smaller guys because they apparently aren’t hardcore enough. Honestly if beeing hardcore means using gear, which seems to be the way most people think in here, I’d much rather not be hardcore.

I’ve got nothing against steroids use outside of competitive sports, but I know quite a few guys who became asses with a shitty attitude when they started using it. Even one of my best friends who was a very easy going person.

When I was a kid, if a bunch of people were in/into the same activity, and at the same time, gave you unholy shit about your abilities in said activity, and you put in the YEARS, and you made the achievements, THEN you were one of the tribe.

Live with it, live through it, get it and get the fuck over yourself. You’ve lifted for 2.5 years? Wooooooooooooo. Come back in five years, have made hella many progresses, and with an attitude that says “no one on this site owes me shit” and see the response you get.

We have “Testosterone.” We get just darn rowdy and uncouthe. We are elitist because many here have already achieved goals we’ve set for ourselves. We haven’t just crossed the beginner’s benchmarks.

Shadowzz4 - you are what’s wrong with society. This everyone that’s big must be on roids horseshit is sooooo fucking annoying. If I didn’t get amusement from the stupidity I would wish you were all dead, but since you’re all borderline entertaining I don’t.

I’m weak, you probably shouldn’t listen to me if i give advice although i’m making progress! Still can’t bench my bodyweight though.

I look back at some of my posts though and realize I was pretty dumb too, and i’ll probably look back again in 6 months or so and realize that again. Live and learn though.

  1. Who cares about your weak bench?

  2. This post doesn’t make any sense. Did you actually learn if you continued to make dumb posts for another 6 months?

  1. I’m just saying that I post here but I am not particularly strong, it was just an example, the thread topic is “weak people on T-Nation” so I thought I qualified.

  2. I didn’t say my posts were dumb, I mean I was just looking back at myself and saying, “wow, did I really not know that?”, because a lot of this shit seems so obvious now and second nature to me.

And i’m sure 6 months from now some of the shit I haven’t figured right now out will seem obvious and second nature. That’s all.

This Superhero obviously uses Steroids…

What’s your definition of big? Over 230 pounds lean? If so, well yes, pretty much everyone that’s big is on roids. Sorry for breaking it to you that’s just how sports are nowadays.

Huh? So, at 220 lbs, I’m only 10 lbs away from being on roids? And, 5 years ago when I bulked from 220 to 235 lbs, I was most certainly on the steroidz?

I’m struggling to see the connection really.

Oh save that shit already. Man, I can’t even count how many 230 lb guys I know that are clean. As I’ve said several times before, I got up to 240 natural before, and not fat. That’s retarded. You and I almost agreed a few pages back, but this is so ridiculous I can’t even describe it.

There are tons and tons and tons of football players at 230 and ABOVE that have never even touched juice or prohormones. SOME people might not have the genetics, but that sure as hell doesn’t mean everyone over 230 is automatically on the juice.

It takes years of dedication. More than 1 or 2 or 3. It took me almost 6.5 years. It takes a lot of the other people who’ve been there almost that long too. Some longer. Some much longer. And several shorter.

Cowboy the fuck up.

Srslycat? So, when I was 210 @ 8%, I must have what, done a starter’s cycle?

You just failed. Time to get a new screen name.

uh if I could afford more food… learn to eat.

I hope someday it’s a requirement for avatars to be real pictures of the posters! Then when someone mentions roids every time they hear about anyone with a decent physique we can see exactly how pathetic they are.

It drives me crazy how many completely blank profiles I see yet those people are lighting everyone else up like they are any kind of authority.

so true

Eh. One things for sure I don’t have too many people on my side here! Okay maybe that comment about 230+ guys was bullshit, I have no reason to call you out on your affirmations except for the football guys, there’s no way you can know for sure that they never touched gear.

I don’t know where you live, but I haven’t seen many 230+ lean (we’re talking 7%>) guys that don’t use gear. Actually about half of the lifters at my gym use roids and are about 170…

Okay you put your shitty physique as your avatar so you can afford to talk shit.

Edit:
Vash, I said 230 lean… your profile says 190 at 12.5%.

So many people get offended when people accuse them of taking steroids because they are bigger/stronger than someone else. Some people have superior genetics, some people are more dedicated, some people juice.

Whatever it is, people push themselves. I’m sure that nearly everyone here would agree that steroids are not an excuse to cheat. Many may not even necessarily consider them cheating (depending of course on the venue in which they are used) but the fact is that steroids or not there will be some people out there who are bigger/stronger/faster than others.

And yes steroids give an advantage, but they are not an excuse by any means to slack off. I personally have never used them, yet I get accused of taking them nearly every day. I am one of those people who was blessed with great genetics, but I’ve come a long way.

I went from about 140 lbs. to 210 lbs. in about 2 years completely drug free. I have a dedication and a passion for bodybuilding that goes above and beyond any other person I have ever met. Because of what I have accomplished, people accuse me of cheating.

I used to be offended. It used to make me angry when people would accuse me of juicing when I knew that I wasn’t. Now, however, I take this as a compliment. I figure that if I look big enough or lift heavy enough to lead people to assume that there’s no way that I can be natural then obviously something that I’m doing is paying off.

Don’t complain about how weak you are or about how strong or weak another guy is, dedicate yourself. Use the accusations (positive or negative) of others to fuel You. After all, bodybuilding is not a team sport.

No matter how good other people think you look, you will never be big enough. And no matter how strong people think you are, you will never be strong enough. If you can’t accept that, you need to find a new passion.

Ok, we’re evening out here. Sure, there’s no way to know that the football players which I don’t know personally are not juiced to the gills, I totally agree.

Outside of those people I know personally, I’m arguing based on statistics and the wide, wide population of athletes, especially football players. There’s no statistical probability that all of them, or even the vast majority are on AAS, IMHO.

I have no idea where you live in Quebec either, but I do know that your gym seems to be on one far end of the sample pool. It’s easy to draw conclusions about the wider world when all you’ve been around is one specific thing.
