Does anyone else take walmart fish oil capsules??? I was just wondering what kind to get and how many you usually take per day. I would love to take flame out, but I cant swing the price every 22 days.
From Wal-Mart I get the Spring Valley enteric coated, 1000 mg in the largest size possible.
How many do you take a day to get the needed amout of Omega 3. I have heard between 6 and 10 grams is needed!!! Thats alot of fish oil capsules isnt it???
I haven’t looked at Wal-Mart’s fish oil–so forgive me if I’m wrong–but I bet that one Flameout capsule is equal to several Wal-Mart capsules.
Furthermore, to get the DHA you need (Flameout is formulated so that it contains more DHA than EPA, unlike just about every other product on the market), you’d have to take an even greater number of Wal-Mart capsules.
So maybe it’s not more economical to use the Wal-Mart capsules?
Yeah, their EPA is higher. Does it have that big of an effect. Not doubting you TC, just asking so I know. I guess I want to take fish oil, but I cant seem to find really good info on it that clears things up for me. Any sales on Flameout coming up?!?!?!?!?! ha ha.
I use the Walmart capsules as well - I think each one has 180 EPA and 120 DPA or some ratio close to that per 1000 mg capsule. I know that one flameout capsule is equal to a handful of these, but I’ve been pleased so far with my $8.97 investment.
Here is a link to Consumer Lab results. Scroll down to the bottom to compare brands; Spring Valley is the brand that Walmart sells if I am correct.
Hope this helps anyone.
Thanks Flex! It looks like the Spring Valley ones have about 1000mg per serving. That means I would have to take 18 per day to get the 6 grams. WHOA!!! Maybe flameout isnt so expensive. I didnt know fish oil was going to be this expensive to take.
Oh wait, but flameout only has 3000 mg a day of Omega 3’s so I guess I would need to take only 9 walmart pills per day in that case. But…flameout has CLA in it. Does that make a big difference???
nope cla is supposed to be crap. unless you take like 15 grams of it. buy walmart

No you were closer to correct prior if looking at not the total grams but the DHA amounts to = 4 Flameout you’d need just over 18 walmart fish oils.
Then on the CLA opposed to what above said CLA is not useless. It depends on what your going after. If for fatloss. Yup he’s right CLA hasnt panned out but for inflamation fighting it seems to work very well if the right isonomer is used.
Me beinjg a HUGE fish oil user for years I can say making thw switch and just one bottle of Flameout showed marked, amazing results in stopping nagging shoulder and elbow inflammation. Plus I no longer had to po 10-20 damn fish oils a day for less results.
Thats my take,
Phill
Doesnt Flameout get expensive though???

is your health worth it?
I haven’t started using fish oil yet, but will be soon. Just comes down to how big of a priority it is for you.

Exactly.
No for what it does for me no its not expensive. It took away the need for the toher fish oils took away pain ive neen bothered with for years which led to better w/o’s. Im sure it also led to some of my stellar results on my latest Cho test as well.
To me money well spent.
I gotta agree but with the recommendations for Flameout but if price is an absolute problem I would go with salmon oil over the fish oil.

Sorry, but LOL @ “is your health worth it?” and then admitting to not taking any in the next sentence.
Honestly pick up a bottle of carlson’s fish oil liquid that is lemon flavored and do the recommended serving 1-2x a day.
The best part is everything is tested, certified, and it actually tastes good too.
You can get a big bottle for 40 bucks that has over a 100 servings i believe!!!
Another brand I recommend is coromega fish packets. These are handy for on the go.
Stick with liquid or similar delivery systems, they work better and faster!!!
