Just a question/thought. I understand it is a relative thing but how many inches should you expect to gain to your waist, for gaining a several pounds/kgs in BW. For example, Im 190lbs,6’1", and have gained 3.5kgs(7.7lbs) in 6 weeks. My waist has gone up an inch. Good, not so good. I think its reasonable and am willing to continue to my goal of 95kgs by the end of june. If i continue it means ill prob be about 37in waist by the time i make it
Can anyone remember there own experiences with their weight gain and the number of inches they gained??
Well, since the summer when I weighed between 200-205, my waist size was around 31.5-32.5 depending on those weights, and now at 220 it is around 34. I really don’t notice it, but It has increased slightly.
Yeah well i suppose but your waist is tiny. I suppose its all about whether or not you can handle having a bigger waist. Me? I can knowing that ill be at 95kgs by the end of june and striving hard to make it my new set point.
I just took this then. I have just drank a litre of milk but still it gives you an indication of where im at. If you need more photos of my leaness of lack there of, check my profile. Im guessing if i continue to eat the way i do, lots of milk, meat and eggs, the belly will be visible but then again, ill just have to wear baggier clothes
On another note: Why the fuck wont people put photos up? Are people that ashamed of themselves that they wont show people what they look like. I know I aint no Arnie but fucked if ill hide away in the dark and throw around internet fodder at people who’ve achieved more than me. No. I take the criticism with the comments and continue on my way, learning as I go. Argh. Those excuses where ppl ask a Q and then say “i dont have a camera” or “ill put up a photo later” fucking shits me!! /rant
I started off at 190 pounds, at 6’5" with a 34" waist. I’m currently at 275 pounds, same height, with a 40" waist.
I should also mention I still look pretty good with a 40" waist. As in, I’m not fat in the least.

Was this directed at anyone in particular? I completely agree, I’m just wondering who you’re referring to.
Hey OP, I think it depends on person as well as how fat you are gaining and what (fat/muscle) you are gaining.
After a cut, I have gained probably around ~12 lb in a month or so but gained less than half an inch, if at all, of waist.
Some people just gain most of their fat in the waist area, if that is you, then you should consider damage control half way through the gain.

Hahaha thats awesome. Im sure people still ask where your abs are though. People that give no merit to a guy bigger than them without abs should quit breathing the air that i breathe. Besides, the bigger everything else is the more fat you can hold whilst still looking impressive. Im sure i wont look too impressive with a shirt off when i reach 95kgs but ill sure as hell be stronger than most of the people i know.

Only every person with less than 50 posts that keep popping up, creating a new thread and asking a question like “should i cut”, “my legs dwarf my upper body, how can i fix it” etc. and expecting people to actually make an informed response.

As i said. Ive gained just over half an inch and almost 8 pounds of BW, whilst increasing most lifts every week. So the only “damage control” ill be doing is if my waist goes over 37", ill begin drastically reducing my carbs, but continue be in a caloric surplus. Those who go to extremes, end up with extreme results. If that means being a little soft, with a little belly that can only really be seen with a tight shirt on, then so be it. I wanna be as big as possible as fast as possible, if that means pushing the extremes, then so be it.
I went from 155 with a 34’ waist to 225 or so with a 38 inch waist. Now cutting at 201 with a 35’ ( I have pics in my profile).

Fixed that for ya.
Hey nyce, what are your thoughts. Not just on the retards clogging up the forums.
I think that you should just shoot for your bodyweight goals and not worry about your waist size. I’m sure unless you are eating crap and simply gaining fat, which I assume you’re not at all, your waist will be fine and it’s more important that you attain goals for weight, strength, etc. Also, as you get bigger, even if your waist is getting bigger, it will appear the same size because your body is getting more muscular if that helps at all lol.

I don’t think there is any true ratio as some people will always have thick waists. Here’s something to think about:
Increase in strength with increase in scale weight and waist = good
No increased in strength with increase in scale weight and waist = not good
Increased in scale weight with NO increase in waist = VERY good
Ask and ye shall recieve…
Currently 5’5", 174lb, 32yrs old, just started lifting 18mo ago after being a life long runner. These are from November

When I first started lifting weights (picture: before lifting) I was somewhat lean and had a waist less than 30 inches (@ 5’9, 130lbs).
At my fattest it was around 38 inches (there is a picture of me in that state somewhere in my post history if anyone cares, as well as my first competent bulk up to 180lbs). I think most of the muscle mass I gained in my core was directly correlated with the fast progress I made with my thighs - which is a personal theory of mine, that you can pretty much maintain your normal/small waist until your thighs get significantly large. Or rather, don’t expect to have a small waist in the middle of a large upper body and a large lower body… most bodies don’t seem to want to work that way, and you can even see this in the case of someone like Flex Wheeler when his thighs were at their largest, and he has arguably one of the best waists in bodybuilding history.
Also maybe worth mentioning, my waist shape has stayed relatively the same, and I think this is true for most people. If you have flaring obliques, or a very straight waist, or a tapering V-type waist, the shape is going to be visible at any reasonable bodyfat percentage (just bigger or smaller obviously), until you get upwards of 20% bodyfat or lower than 10% bodyfat… then things change a little.
But if I got back down to the level of bodyfat I was before lifting weights, I can’t imagine my waist being much larger than 31 inches or so. However, like I said, once my thighs are over 28 inches I think that is going to change.
Woops, I don’t think I answered your question at all!

Nice work man. Some of the pics arent showing but nice work anyways. Im up from 73kgs last March and WHEN i get to 95kgs that’ll be 22kgs(48lbs) in a year and 4 months. Hopefully i wont be fat.

Well fast food yes i eat it a bit. Limiting soft drinks, chips etc. But i love a good pizza, burger or whatever. And i drink a lot of whole milk which ultimately should not be an integral part of a bodybuilders diet if leaness is the goals. It isnt. Hence why its there, besides being really cheap for the amount of calories. Thanks for the advice. Your fucking threads in the performance section were sick. Looking good

No you didnt! But interesting none the less. What ya weighing these days? Without being a nut hugger, I must say you are probably one of the least-bullshit people on this site. I would like to shake your hand one day. Haha. Carry on.
