80’s music in teh dunk videos.
boom.
Found an article called Vertical Jump Con Artists by Alan Stein that fits this discussion perfectly. It’s all about the marketing hype some guys use to try to sell VJ programs. Pretty interesting take
my friend who is 5’7, achieved 30" standing jump & 35" running jump, measured on vertec… He’s gained 9" on SVJ, 11-12" on RVJ over 2 years. He’s put in tons of hard work. He’ll be hitting a 10’ dunk one day soon if he continues his journey.
peace
^^^How low is that little rim?

Yeah, I missed that haha. Dude, the editing in your vids is killer. Do you do that yourself?

Why do all that work increasing your vertical when you can just get these shoes instead?
First shoe ever banned by the NBA for giving an unfair competitive advantage… pretty crazy

those shoes are whack… i doubt they really provide an average 3.5" increase… i could be wrong of course.

i didn’t see any improvement, 3.5" is alot, i didn’t see anything like that in this video review of them…
the NBA banning them almost seems like marketing, it’s odd…
i emailed them and told them to send me a pair and linked my site, bwahah, would be cool if they did, i’d like to see if they are legit or not… in the end though, i’d rather jump higher barefoot (this is how it feels in my nike zoom waffle racers) than use some spring loaded shoe.
peace

Even if they don’t work, the NBA just helped them sell A LOT of shoes. And yes, 3.5" is a big increase. That’s the difference between a standard 1-handed dunk and a windmill.

A buddy of mine does this for local [and some non-local] businesses and makes a pretty good living. You should look into that man.
So I have a question unrelated to springy shoes. Im a goalkeeper in soccer looking to improve physically. Unlike field players, goalkeepers dont need endurance but require short bursts and explosive jumps on full extension dives to stop shots. Would using a program to increase my vertical carryover to leaping sideways instead of just up? Or would it be more beneficial to go a different route in my training?

peace man

if your vert improves, your lateral jumps would also improve, just make sure you are practicing them. increased overall leg power isn’t task specific.
peace man
sometimes you’re jumping higher than ever, but you just want to jump higher than that, so you get angry at yourself, and none of those “higher than ever jumps” end up meaning anything.
Does anyone have any tips on windmills? I’ve never even been close to being able to pulling them off, even though I have done a few 360 dunks. I have a problem carrying the momentum through the upper body during the “cycle” movement. I have tried doing windmills with no ball and have problems even getting my hands on the rim before coming down.
It took me a long time to get the windmill down. It’s a lot about timing. Start with a Dominique Wilkins-style double-pump, then go to two-handed windmill, then one-handed. That’s how I learned it at least.
But:
I have tried doing windmills with no ball and have problems even getting my hands on the rim before coming down.
makes me think you just aren’t jumping high enough.

Yeah, either you aren’t jumping high enough or you have the slowest arm swing of all time. Can you palm a ball? Windmills are more about timing than hops. If you can get a 2-hand cockback you should be able to get a windmill, provided you have big enough hands.
