V-Diet Progress

Yes. I ended up taking Tylenol PM last night (day 3 of V-Diet), which isn’t something I really want to start doing. I’ve got some ZMA but that never really put me to sleep. If anything it just made me have crazy dreams. Hope it works out for you though.

Day 5 - I’m also having some sleep issues. It took forever to get to sleep last night, and I slept right through the alarm this morning–I can’t remember the last time that happened. I am exhausted today–partly from lack of sleep and partly from a return to work from a 2 week break. I’ll go to bed early and hope that I just sleep through.

I am also not as cold, so I’m taking that as a positive sign that I’m adapting to the diet. Two more pounds off as of this morning’s weigh-in. I thought it would slow down already, but no complaints!

Got some vanilla Metabolic Drive and ZMA today, cant wait to taste the vanilla. i might try taking some tylenol pm or nyquil, but not gonna try to do anything drastic just yet

If I’m not mistaken, going low carb leads to sleep issues for several days.

vanilla tastes great! i love it already. how long does this sleeping problem last, would u say?

Got in some cardio last night. I was feeling pretty good so I did some intervals for 20 mins and then kept up a fast walk with an incline for another 20 mins.

No weigh ins or body fat checks since the last time. Things have been going really good though. The mirror says I’m showing progression. Here’s the late night work out:

Barbell Curls: 5 x 5 w/65 (too light)
Dumbbell Curls: 2 x 5 w/15’s (ditto)

Preacher Curls (machine): 5 x 5 w/45
Hammer Curls: 3 x 5 w/15’s

Decline Tricep Ext: 5 x 5 w/85
Dips: 3 x 5

Lying Tricep Ext: 5 x 5 w/85
Tricep Pushdowns: 3 x 5 w/20

The last sets of the main exercise were supersetted with the second one. The second exercise was done with slow tempo.

day 5, and i have only had one shake 2day. i tried to drink 2, but due to lack of a blender or ice it tasted like crap and almost made me gag. today was a bad day. last night insteaed of a shake i had 2 big glasses of milk, and today when i got home also had a big glass of milk and some vitamin c chewys. i cant wait for saturday, ima be going to the cheesecake factory with my family and plan on havin a good steak dinner

You do know that milk is not at all like a VD shake right? While not a “junk” food it’s full of carbs and this is supposed to be an all protein and fat diet. Otherwise you’ll never reach a ketogenic state.
Hang in there, it ain’t always easy. If it was everyone would be doing it.

Just found out that I may be going on spring break in April, either 3 or 4 weeks from today. I am thinking of starting up on the V-diet for at least 2 weeks. I’m thinking I can drop at least 5-10 lbs in that time.

My only concern is that once I get to the spot, I won’t be following the v-diet any more and I’m worried about putting all the weight back on during that weekend since I won’t really be tapering off.

Thoughts?

Also how much Metabolic Drive would someone need for a 3 week v-diet?

so what type of protein shakes should i be using?..muscle milk wont work for this will it? And i cant mix powder with milk either? Also…is this a really catabolic diet?

Hmm. Did you read Chris’s original threads on this topic? He designed a complete diet right down to the supplements – with explanations for everything.

ya i know, but i had it anyways. also had bout 3 oz of chicken, cold, today, just b/c i didnt have time to make a shake and needed a little protein. other than that , tho, iv been following it to a T. bout to go lift in a little bit and play some ball

Well, the MD would be the best but I guess just find something that doesn’t have too many carbs, has very little fat and has a good blend of casein and whey protein. Oh, and one that doesn’t make you shit yourself when you consume mass amounts of it. That is of paramount importance.

Did some more “cardio” tonight. Intervals for 10 mins and the fast up hill walking for 20 more. It’s getting easier.

well thats an entire portion. wat would b the best for me to eat? chicken, steak, or fish? id like to eat some chicken, but am wondering wat u guys think i should do. ill b having veges and a small salad with whatever i get

Holy christ this is pathetic. Scottish is the only one actually doing the V-Diet. The other guy is doing some weird “I can drink milk when I want and eat chicken for protein and worrying about salmon salads” diet. WTF is that??

Either do the diet 100% or don’t do it at all. And quit whining about it.

hey get off my case bro. im tryin the best i can. just bc i had a little chicken and som milk doesnt mean im a failure. and im just trying out wat i should eat for a meal on the weekend. im going out with my fam and want to be able to eat with them. if u dont have something good to say, keep your mouth shut
