Im 18 and fresh out of high svhool and i hit the gym alot and im about to start hittin the needle. for years ive done the old school dumbell curls, benchpress, sitting military, etc. Going to the gym twice a day everyday has got me obsessed with the huge chest, defined back, large shoulders, and the wing muscles. Does Anyone have any suggested workouts they feel aggresives work any of these out?
squats and milk?

Don’t even fucking think about steroids.
Go train your damn legs.

I agree
This is a fucking joke I hope. You have no idea what the fuck you are doing if you cant even put a simple program together there is no way you are knowledgeable enough to be running gear or in any physical shape to be running it.
You do of course realize that steroids aren’t made of magic and pixie dust, right? They only work if you already have routines that work for you. Not to mention that just about anyone will tell you that you don’t need steroids at your age. If you have to come and ask about how to work out and then tell us you’re going to “hit the needle,” you’re doing it wrong.

Don’t take it from any of us. We’re a bunch of natural lifters. Take it from someone who has used some steroids.
There is Dave Tate on steroids. If you have to take steroids fresh out of high school, you’re a fucking pathetic loser. You probably can’t even fathom how strong some people have gotten without steroids. Don’t be a bitch.
And on top of everything else, you have a shit program if you can even call doing 2 a day upper body a “program”. Get on a proven strength training routine, and you are going to have to focus on your goddamn legs whether you like it or not. Do you know how strong the biggest bench pressers’ legs are? Fucking strong. You can’t be that out of balance. I see “glory lifters” like you all the time, and they are jokes.
I have a 50 inch chest. You know how I got most of it? Deadlifts. Sorry I am being an asshole to you. I get really angry about things like this, because it will waste your potential.
Its a shame that Youth is wasted on the young.
its okay i understamd…im here to learn so can you give me what you think would be a good workout. like i said i got mornings and night for abot 2 hours a peice.
That a look at Jim Wendler 5/ 3 /1 program. It’s easy to follow and is very active. He has several articles on T NATION.
Check this link out first. Then read through as many articles as you can. Search by author for ones that deal with your goals. Clay Hyght and John Meadows have great bodybuilding articles. Knowledge is your biggest tool.
Pick a sensible balanced programme based on the information you get from here. Then STICK TO IT for as long as you can. Only change up if you have stopped making gains and you know your diet is good.
Eat as much as you can.
You will gain a hell of a lot of size and strength without steroids. Make progress naturally then reassess.

Well that’s awesome. Sorry again for being a jerk, I was just trying to get through to you that steroids and glory lifting at your age is a sure fire way to never reach your lifting potential. Truth be told though, I love upper body stuff the most too ![]()
As for weightlifting programs: Starting strength, 5/3/1, 5x5, madcow, texas method, juggernaut method, sheiko, and of course conjugate training. Those are all the ones I can think of off the top of my head. Steve Pulcinella also just put out his own ebook about his training methods which would be good as well.
I would do some google searching on all of those and see which one looks like the most fun for you.
The program will determine your schedule, rep scheme, and weight progression, but the exercises you use should be largely similar.
Here’s a list of the main exercises:
deadlift
squat
overhead press (strict and preferably standing)
bench press
Those four should be your main focus, as they will add by far the most size and strength to your body as a whole.
Here’s some of my favorite assistance lifts:
close grip bench
incline bench
heavy dumbell rows
pullups
glute-ham raise or something equivalent
dips
really, really heavy barbell shrugs
stiff leg deadlift
rack pulls
box squats
curls
I would be sure to get in some conditioning and mobility work as well. No one hates conditioning and mobility work more than me, but it’s just another one of those things that is detrimental to leave out. You will minimize injuries and be able to lift more consistently and get stronger in the long run.
If you really have that much time to devote to training, you could like lift every morning and do conditioning and mobility every night or something if you really wanted. Conditioning could be sprinting, hill sprinting, prowler pushing, sled dragging, tire flipping, sledge hammer swinging, farmers walk, or whatever. I find that if I can make it more interesting, I’m more apt to do it. Try to do foam rolling and stretching for “mobility”.
If you’re gonna work out super hard though make sure you get a pretty good night’s sleep and eat lots and lots and lots of food. Make people uncomfortable with the amount of food you eat.
Just some of my opinions and thoughts.
I just turned 19 and I’ve always heard we (15ish-22ish)year olds are basically in a natural steriod cylce for these years because of our hormones and potential to put on size and weight. Hell, I’ll trade a few zits from excess testosterone in my body anyday for .1 lb of muscle. But seriously when I went from 190 to 205 my lifts/size/strength all went up considerably with little to none BF.

Get on a proven program. The ones listed above are all good choices. Read them, pick the one you like the best, and follow it TO A TEE. Don’t change anything, trust the program.
Also, I’m fairly certain that your squats are high. Make sure you’re hitting depth.
Coming from someone whose made the mistake before get on a proven program or at least base it off the core lifts. Seriously just erase what you think you know about lifting. If you have 4 hours to train a day i would do the following :
AM - lift
PM - conditioning / mobility
Do this 3-5 days a week ( or as many days as your PROVEN program calls for) and eat as much as you can. Stop buying all your supps and buy food instead. Simple whey protein is more then enough supplement wise for your level.

On all my squat i was always taught during wrestling in highschool to squat low to increase “explosive power” all my squats are atleast going down till my but and calves make a 90 degree angle

Okay so i worked out this morning like i logged for you guys and when i went back i did some cardio like a stair stepper and ran 2 miles and then got in the dry sauna to help just sweat it out. im going to look up the proven programs now and i will also post that so you guys can see which one i found most useful to me.
Alright guys so now i have went through and read and read and…read and i chose Jim Wendler’s 5/3/1 i have set down and calculated and ill go to the gym 4 days a week one day for each workout (Bench, Squat, Deadlift, Standing Shoulder Press) and ill also throw in some side workouts so im not just doing one work out a day. Another question too the gym i go to there really isnt alot of room to get a diamond, square, or bar out to deadlift is there another way i could do it?
