Hey, my right bicep get extremely pumped when i train biceps, and my right arm is about half an inch bigger than my left (thats just now, not when pumped) but my left is able to keep going for quite a bit longer doin curls etc.
i just find this a bit weird and just wondering if anyone else is having the same sort of thing???
What kind of curls are you doing? barbell? dumbell?
If you’re doing barbell curls, make sure to keep the bar parallel to the floor throughout the entire motion; this will help to keep both biceps doing an equal amount of work, which will keep them balanced.
If you’re doing dumbell curls, make sure you’re doing the same number for both arms and keeping good form for both arms.
yea i try to do more dumbell than barbell purely to keep level of training equal on each side, i like doing preacher curls with the bicep barbell aswell, i find that good.
its just really annoying cuz my right bicep basically stops at a crtain point cuz there is such a large pump…its strange cuz im quite symetrical otherwise
Don’t stop because of the pump; work through it. That’s where you start seeing results.
I did only barbell work for my Biceps for a few weeks and when I went back to dumbells, I could do a few more reps with my right arm than with my left.
Just make sure both Biceps do an equal amount of reps and receive an equal amount of strain and whatever is uneven should even itself out within a few weeks.
Exactly what mitch said. I had this problem for better part of a year before I finally got it fixed. Also check your form, it could be that you are cheating more with your left arm and using more shoulder to get it up. Use only the weight that your left arm can lift properly. I.e. if you can lift 40 lbs with your right arm and 35 with your left, only lift 35 with both arms so as not to increase the discrepancy between the two.
