my right arm is a little bigger than 15… and my left arm is 14.5. I don’t train my right anymore than my left, and i always begin my 1-arm sets with my left arm as well. do any of you have this problem… I’m thinkin it will even out over time… anybody have thoughts on what to do?
start using your other hand to jerk off with!! It worked for me!
No, just messing, the only advice I could give would be to train the smaller arm first in your bi/tri workouts, make the smaller one a proirity. I’ve read some tips about bringing the lagging arm up to speed with the bigger one, if I find it I’ll post it up here.
That’s nothing! My left arm is a little over 15 1/2 inches and my right is a little over 16 1/2 inches. Now that really sucks. One inch is alot! No matter how hard i try they have never evened out.
Try doing dumbbell only work for arms. There are plenty of good bi and tri exercises that are done with dumbbells. If that doesn’t work after a few serious months, try switching the rest of your upper body stuff to dumbells as well until the problem evens out. It worked for me.
Hey guys, newsflash: why don’t you try training only your deficient arm? And if you don’t believe me, read some of Ian King’s articles or Get Buffed.
also, if you look closely, the human body isn’t really symmetrical.
This might sound wierd but it worked for me. I finished off my arm w/o’s with incline curls, but here’s the trick. I used a heavier weight on my smaller arm. Still use a weight that you can curl 6-8 times, but go for about four sets lifting both arms simultaniously. Whenever your smaller arm starts to fail at the end of each set, concentrate on your stronger arm with the lighter weight. You will find yourself cranking out extra reps with your weaker arm, you kinda trick your arm. Don’t know how it works exactly but it does. This ends up giving your weaker arm an extra intense w/o while giving your stronger arm a regular w/o. Another Idea, use dumbell exercises, and whenever you get to the end of your last set, drop the weight on your strong arm and do some assisted negatives with your weaker arm. Just some ideas, good luck!
My left arm was 18…and my right 17,4.I quit training my right arm for about 4 months and got it arm up to 17,6.I talked to Poliquin about it…he said it could be a nerve inplingment(sp?)…or genetic.
I quit training my left arm for 4 months…not my right:)-ZiGGy
Yeah, you can do a couple extra reps/sets for the weak side, during your arm workout. BUT, the most important thing is that you use dumbbells for at least one, maybe two exercises, every day that you train a larger bodypart. If you’re using a bar, your form needs to be impecable, so that if your imbalance makes you want to cheat a little by using the strength from the stronger side, YOU DON’T DO IT. By keeping strict form, your imbalance will catch up in no time.
I started training with a newbie about two months ago. At first his left side was crazy weak. His left shoulder would come off the bench when doing anything, on the last couple reps, and his left arm had about 1/2 the strength of the right. Well, two months later there are NO imbalances.
My left arm is 1/2" smaller than my right as well but the weird thing is that my left bicept appears bigger and is way stronger than my right. I’ve tried everything to correct this but nothing has worked. I’ve had an imbalance in my left thigh too and I have been dropping all exersizes for my right leg and doing all left leg work (mostly heavy lunges and leg extensions) for about a month now and they are even now. Dont know what to do about the bicept though - I tried doing 3 sets of curls on my smaller arm after every workout and this didn’t do it.
my arms dont match, one is bigger than the other, just keep on working hard and trying to get bigger
I have assymetry as well. The bi’s and tri’s in each arm are shaped differently, too. Although I’m right-handed, my left arm is consistently 1/4 to 1/2" larger. I gave up trying to fix it. I’ve accepted it as my genetic distribution.
