I have to start training for my PFT, so not a lot of max effort training for a couple weeks. I’ll try to get vids up if I can find my camera in the chaotic mess I call home.

I’m not ready to move up to 220 yet. Still chasing my Elite Total at 198, first! AHHHH THE TENSION IS TOO MUCH TO HANDLE!!![/quote]
I’d say if you compete at under 200 who cares. Even if you weigh 220
Did a prelim PFT today. Ran 2 miles in 18:27. I’ll admit, I had to stop a couple of times. 54 push ups in a minute. 48 sit ups. I have work to do on my run, but at least my cals are good.

Within reason. I mean there is going to be a ridiculously huge difference in someone dropping 20 lbs to make the 198’s and someone that is a 198er. Then there are going to be people who say “I’m going to compete in the 198’s” that never compete and are 250+ thinking they’ll clean their diet up and get down there all the while never doing it, and posting stuff like that in this thread.
For the sake of this thread. If you are not under 200 lbs, this thread is not for you.
No, I’m Air Force. I run 2 miles because I figure if I have a good 2 mile time, I’ll have a good 1 1/2 mile time.
Makes a lot more sense now. I definitely read that as an APFT, so 54 pushups equaling pretty good didn’t make sense. Sounds like you’re doing ok, just get that run squared away.
Yeah, my cals are fine. The run kills my shins though. It’s hard to keep a good speed.

What’s your AFSC? I’m Security Forces.

Ugh. I hate this question. I’m…services.
HAHA!!! I feel ya on that man. It’s all good. Service is service in my eyes.
Yeah, but when you’re going through the CCT pipeline, and you wash out because of something stupid it sucks to be put to a “lesser” job.
Well it’s been a while, but I’m finally moving up. 1,100lb gym total.
20lb pr on squat and DL, 5lb on bench. The bench probably hasn’t gotten much stronger, maybe I’m just a better grinder now ha.
Nice depth on your squats. Keep your knees forced out, they’re caving in a little bit out of the hole.
Watching you bench makes me mad though. I just hit 280 in the gym a couple weeks ago but my squat and deadlift are 475/525 (gym lifts), respectively. I’m such a shitty bencher.
Mind if I tag along?
BW 196 @ 5’10
Current lifts -
Squat: 390x3
Deadlift: 475x1
Bench 330x4
I hit a huge pr! I deadlifted 410 for 5 reps for a 10 lb pr! It was especially a big deal because my dl went down lately, and now it poped right back up.

What’s wierd is I have long skinny arms. I guess my arch helps a lot lol. I have a long ways to go with my squat and dead though, wish I had those numbers.

I can dig it man. Best thing to do is just stick to it and try to retrain when you can. Don’t get too down on your current job. I’ve seen a lot of dudes get caught up in some NJP crap cuz they weren’t into doing what they needed to do to stay out of trouble.
/end hijack.

Congrats on the PR man. It’s crazy how lifts can fluctuate like that for no reason at all.
