First time checking out this forum but I’ll hop in.
199.5 lbs right now.
no idea/290/485
Been trying to get to a 500 DL for a while and am just pulling in a comp this weekend (push/pull and I tweaked my chest a month ago, still slightly tweaked) but haven’t been squatting like I should. Big discrepancy in my squat though. All time PR is 345x2.
How tall are some of you 198s and 181s? I know I’m probably not ideally built for full PL (6’1) so I would rather just do push/pulls for the rest of the time but I’m getting the feeling only just doing push/pulls is just cheating myself and taking the easy way out.
LiquidMercury, what did the chiro have you doing? I’m in PT school now and as you would imagine there’s a lot of tension between PT and chiro methods. I feel like most, not all, chiros just treat pain and not necessarily help you progress much so that you just keep coming back but once again, I know all aren’t like that. Just like all PT’s aren’t the best

I’m 5’8 and compete in the 181’s though I sit around 198 and cut weight to make it.
My chiro had me doing Vax-D 3 times a week, adjustments and TENs unit. As you said, the pain was treated but insurance stopped covering and pain returned when I stopped going so I took things into my own hands and started assessing the problem and working towards a solution. Things have been going well.
Yeah I’m not familiar with Vax-D but adjustments and TENS are just temporary fixes. Sounds like you got it on the right track though. Mobility and myofascial release are the way to go. It’s my belief that nearly every musculoskeletal injury can be fixed when the right stresses are applied by the body itself.

I always thought the chiro was awesome util I didn’t have the money to go anymore and started doing things on my own like LM. Mobility and myofascial release are exactly what I do now and I doubt I’ll ever go back to a chiro.
Anyway, I hit a 475 squat today. Was a little high, but should pass in most meets. Had pretty good bar speed on it.
Failed at 485, just didn’t have the energy/motivation after hitting a PR like that. 500 in April should be no problem.

Officially (on an unofficial scale) weighed in at 206 today… Can I still play? I’m still competing at 198, just have to do a little bit of a cut now.

I would say yes I weigh that much somedays but i’m not the overlord of this thread…
