I’m no longer under 200lbs anymore (weighed in at ~204 last two times I used the scale at the gym), but I compete at 198 so…yeah. It counts.
So, how close do I have to be? I’m at 208 right now.
I’ll get in on this. I’m about 180-185 right now, maybe a little lighter. I broke my leg six weeks ago so I haven’t been able to weigh myself since, so I might have lost a few pounds. Anyways, my best lifts from the first week of last August were 385/275/425 @ 16 y/o.
This offseason for football I’m following a full blown Westside template that goes in two 16 week cycles. By the first week of August 2012, I’m shooting for 455/335/500 @ about 200/205 and 17 y/o.
I’m also looking to compete in a RAW competition around March/April and am hoping to set some records in my age and weight class.
I finally get the pin out of my ankle next week and will finally be able to squat and deadlift again along with some leg drive in my bench. Wish me luck.

Good luck. Careful about the atrophy in the bad leg and how it may effect hip/back development going forward. Breaking my fibula really effed me up for a while.

Is there anything you did for your bad leg? My quad is basically the same size as the other one, but the lower leg is tiny. Should I focus on my bad leg when I come back?

I probably did it wrong seeing as it gave me some pretty terrible back pain. How long were you in the cast for? You’re lucky… my right quad and lower leg were both tiny. My advice to younger me would be to foam/LAX roll like crazy and hit the mobility and rehab exercises hard. Can you squat? I couldn’t free squat for a while so I just did box squats. Also did lots of 1-leg work (pistol box squats) to try and maintain balance. Left erector is still significantly thicker than the right one even after like 2 years.

Well still working on rehabbing the herniated disc here but things are feeling much better. I’ve been really focusing on mobility, stability, and flexibility as a comprehensive program and today I felt the best I’ve felt in years in my hips (back is still tweaking). Hit an easy 525 rev band squat (ATG/oly stance) for 5, probably could have hit 8. Fully deloaded at the top quarter or so. I can’t express how much the mobility stuff has helped both in terms of my depth, my ability to maintain body angles, and generally just better force production. Take care of yourselves people!

Would you mind describing your rehab protocol and where the herniation was?

Did you go to a PT or design it yourself?

L5/S1 herniation. I went to a chiro for about 15 weeks 3x per week and the pain was mitigated but as soon as I stopped (insurance stopped paying for it) then the pain came back and I couldn’t squat or load my spine even without the pain while seeing the chiro, it wasn’t fixing the problem, just mitigating the effects of it for the most part. In the last 2 weeks I’ve really taken it upon myself to find the issue and fix it. I’ve run myself through Functional Movement Screen as well as the Assess and Correct tests and found out the causes of my issue and have put together a comprehensive program to address it (done daily). As I said I feel better than I have in years in my hips which always hurt when I squatted or even got up out of bed, and my back pain only tweaks occasionally and I have no problem squatting heavy or loading my spine.

Hahaha mines about the same. I’m 5’7" and 185. I love being short and stocky.
Anybody know of a decent place to get a singlet? I need a new one as the one I have is too long (my federation requires that the bottom of the singlet does not touch the knee wraps) and I need to find one with a shorter bottom part.
I know Inzer ones are short on the bottom, but I had a poor experience with them and I try to avoid buying things from them. My size has been out of stock on APT’s website for a while. I bought my old one off of ebay.
