Unable to Gain Weight

I know, I wrote it up there already somewhere I think. I gotta check…

Every time I step on scale it’s in the morning after I visited bathroom, and before I eat anything. So it’s basically second thing that I do after I wake up. First thing is toilet xD

How much do you weigh now? What are your macros? What are you goals?

Currently 68kg and I’m 180cm tall.

Macros are usually lots of proteins and fat, now I upped carbs bit more, but protein and fat are still higher. Anyways I’m hitting 3700+ calories daily.

I want to get to over 70kg but stay as lean as I am now. 75kg would be ideal.

What is the macro breakdown? “lots of protein” means nothing

I only counted calories, sorry.

It would take me a while to count percentages of every macro and also grams of everything I eat.
I’m not having that much time at the moment.

Use an app like fit day, calorie counter, cronometer.

I use cronometer, it does everything.

I ask for macro breakdown because of the bathroom visits it could be your fat is too high. Higher fat can also add to satiety which makes it hard to eat more.

You want to grow muscle you need carbs. They are also the cheapest macro. Just add more rice to your meals.

True, I do eat load of bacon daily…

And also loads of meat… and almonds and peanut have fat too… I will try downloading the app. And then see.

It’s really possible that my fat intake is actually massive.

how is this thread still going?

Not gaining weight? Increase calories. Continue to do so until weight gain is achieved.

Done.

This was an easy 1,800 calories yesterday after dinner.

I gained 1kg in 3 weeks, now I’m in another 3 weeks.

So it’s OK

Update:

Stepped on scale this morning:
+0.8kg in last 3 weeks.

So, in 6 weeks I gained 1.8kg total. That’s almoust 2kg and I look even bit leaner then before LOL.

So, since first 3 weeks gave me 1kg and other 3 just 0.8kg does that mean my body is adapting to more calories?

My current plan is to do another 3 weeks with same diet like this previous 6 weeks. If I gain 0.8kg again, then I’ll just keep it up, if I gain less or I don’t gain at all - then I’ll up my calories some more, and see results in following 3 weeks.

I would like to hear more opinions on this, especially what would you do if you were me?

Curl up in bed and cry.

Sorry, couldn’t resist. You can be more aggressive if you want but if this is working for you why not ride that wave?

I think gains will eventually completley stop if I don’t keep upping calories from here to there…

I will do next 3 weeks as it is, if I gain noticeably less than 0.8kg in those 3 weeks I’ll consider upping calorie intake for little and then see how’s that going.

No; it means you have more body than you did before, which requires more calories to support.

In other words it requires more calories for maintaining and it needs greater surplus to grow further?

Correct. Also keep in mind that the body does not gain or lose weight in a linear fashion. If you weighed yourself tomorrow you may be down a kilo or only 0.5kg.

Same amount as before, but new bodyweight to start your calculations from.

I see.

This is really a marathon and not a sprint hahaha

Those 6 weeks alone felt like eternity.
I’ll see what other 3 weeks will carry.
Then I think I’ll most likley have to boost up calories again.

I found it gets easier when it’s not all you think about. Life progresses quick enough and it’s just a cool side effect to look bigger and leaner and stronger as you go about your life.

You gained 4 pounds in 6 weeks. You could have gained 20 pounds. You just have to eat more. Can we please kill this thread, if I see any more updates with .0084565 kg gains I’m going to come stuff a tube down your throat and foie gras feed you.
