I can’t believe no one has started a thread about tonight’s UFC card.
I’m looking forward to seeing Diego Sanchez get the living shit kicked out of him tonight.
I am also hoping GSP will let Serra know, in no uncertain terms, that he does not deserv a title shot.
As much as I dislike Diego, he is good and he is tough. I do not think he’ll be getting the shit kicked out of him.
I’d love to see Serra and Kos win, but I doubt they will.

You’re probably right. But my dislike of Sanchez is greater than my common sense.
SOmone somewhere will beat him like he deserves to be beat. I just hope I am watching when it happens.

GSP, barring a fluke, should destroy Serra in the first or second round.
Sanchez-Koscheck has a lot of heat surrounding it and is probably the real main event of the card, even though GSP-Serra will be going on last. I think this will be a close fight but I’m not picking against Sanchez, because everytime I do, he proves me wrong. So, until he loses, I’m going with him.
I’m also interested in the Swick fight; should be a good MW bout in a division that is steadily improving.
Why do you like Sanchez? He’s done nothing. Check that - he’s won a bunch of fights against nobodies.
Honesty - If he were a respectable 17-0 he would already have had a title shot -

I’m praying for a simultaneous KO. I guess I’m so pumped for UFC 70 that this one really isn’t doing much for me. I’ll still watch though, GSP is a straight up stud.

Yeah, this one isn’t worth $40 to me. If I had a few people to chip in, maybe, but I’m a loser with no friends, so…if you guys could keep us posted that would be awesome-
Karo Parisyan, Nick Diaz,Kenny Florian, I’ll throw Joe Riggs in there. These are nobodies? If so who is somebody? And how many of those somebodies does he need to beat before you feel he is good enough for a title shot.
The only reason he hasn’t fought the bigger names in the UFC is politics and nothing more. The UFC has to get the most out of the fighters they have already established and put money into. Sure we’d all like to see Diego vs Matt Hughes or GSP now or whatever, but when you have previous fights that take precident you’ve got to make room.
Matt vs BJ part 2 had to take place, so Diego fights lesser dudes, Matt vs Gracie, GSP vs BJ, Matt vs GSP 2, GSP vs Serra due to the tv show taking precident etc etc.
Diego is a good fighter, he has fought other good fighters, he will eventually get a chance against the best fighters, win or lose tonight.
Dislike the guy all ya want, but to dislike him because of his opponents or lack thereof (in your mind) makes little to no sense. He isn’t ducking fights and I doubt you somehow think he has the ability to pick his fights. If you want to be upset be upset at the UFC.

How many 17-0 fighters are there in the UFC that have not had at least a mention at a title shot?
Maybe it’s politics. Maybe it’s the fact that the UFC knows he’s not title shot material yet.
I did hear Dana (who I don’t like either) say that the winner of the Sanchez-Kos fight will get a title shot - let’s see… Kos at 8-1 getting the same treatment as a 17-0 wonder stud?
Defend him all you want - but his record is better than he is - else he would already have had a chance at the belt.
Diego is 6-0 in the UFC, Josh is 6-1. That paints quite a different picture in terms of his movement through the ranks. Sure they toot his 17-0 record, surely you can understand why they would do that.
Anyway, I don’t have a tickle for Diego either way, I just don’t understand the hate, especially based on his record and opponents.
But I am obviously not going to change your mind and I don’t have any more points to bring up so I will stop.

yea, you can see the shove at ufc’s website. Koscheck could have easily fallen off the stage.
Now, there is a reason not to like the guy, I hate that crap. All the WWE type drama really weaken the sports image in my mind. Save it for the cage.
