Picks?

Couture via GNP

Swick via KO in the first round - I think Swick has got it because he wants it more. Both guys are gonna come out trying to kill each other in the first round imo. I feel Swick is a much better fighter than Marcus Davis(even though I love the guy) and will control Hardy. Finally Hardy is a fucking tool.

Kang by KO- the dude can strike, Bisping is probably still mentally rattled abit from the Hendo beatdown, and Bisping is a fucking tool.

I don’t really care about the rest of the card. BUT ITS FREE!

Thoughts?

Couture should win this, if age hasn’t caught up with him.
Swick.
I hope Kang, but Bisping has a huge reach and perhaps even a stylistic advantage. So Bisping.
Siver is in for a tough fight.

The others don’t interest me much

Vera via GNP
Swick via KO
Kang via KO

If Couture can neutralize Vera’s stand up, Couture by UD.

It’s free and has who gives a shit written all over it.
Swick vs GSP-yawn
Swick vs Hardy-yawn
Couture vs Machida or Shogun-scary
Vera vs them- Vera getting tooled
It’s free and I hope Bisping gets KO’d again though.

I meant Hardy vs GSP

if Vera can fight like when he was a HW, he’ll stomp Randy. if not, he’s gonna get wore down and beat on all night. i wish he would show that aggressiveness he had a few years ago to the LHW division…

i like Swick, but think Hardy might be just as athletic, and a little more skilled as a striker.

i’d like to see Kang beat Bisping (well, i’d like to see anyone beat Bisping, including my gramma), but i think Bisping is too good all-around.

i see that most of the top guys from the UK TUF are on, and i think they’ll all have a good showing as well. looks like they mostly got set up with beatable opponets (challenging, but realistically not as good as they are)

And Hardys ground game? Beating Marcus Davis in a split desision doesn’t prove good striking to me.

Opps, I nearly postd some results then but I realise a lot of you guys haven’t seen it yet! Be interested to hear what you all think about one of the decisions in particular though!

God damnit I knew it… fuck you asshole :stuck_out_tongue:

I thought it was being broadcasted live?

Spoiler Alert

Wow. Surreal.
What Bisping did, that is somehing Musashi called “Mountain-Sea change”.

Three cheers for Sivers!

Ugh…

I’m still holding out for the main event to go as I predicted.

*** Spoiler ***

these are the bouts i saw, and my .02

-Andre Winner vs. Rolando Delgado: Winner looked like he knew he was gonna KO him the whole time…

-Alexander Gustafsson vs. Jared Hamman: never heard of either guy prior to this, and both guys went for an exciting fight. nice KO…

-Ross Pearson vs. Aaron Riley: it sucks that Pearson won by a cut, but he put on a damn striking clinic. he looked awesome!

-Matt Brown vs. James Wilks: Wilks looked good to start, but Brown is just a tough SOB. either tap him, or KO him. Wilks didn’t manage either one, so he screwed himself…

-Michael Bisping vs. Denis Kang: okay, i really disliked Bisping prior to this fight. but his escapes off his back are awesome-prolly the best of any MMA fighter out there. he’s remarkabley good at not taking damage off his back. i was surprised how badly he beat Kang. i’ve only seen a few Kang fights, but was surprised he’s a BJJ blackbelt…he looked rather inexperienced on the gorund compared to Bisping. also, when Bisping brought his kid out and they did their routine it was funny as hell…

-Dan Hardy vs. Mike Swick: Swick looked like he had no game plan at all, and Hardy a lot stronger and faster. GSP will eat both alive, though…i thought that even though both fighters were evenly mathced, it was insanely boring.

-Randy Couture vs. Brandon Vera: terrible decision. i hate watching Randy fight, becasue he’s so goddamn boring. his clinch game is the one thing that i find more boring than lay’n pray. Vera dropped him in Rd 2, and took him down in Rd 3. how Vera lost is beyond me…

other than the last two, it was a good card.

Nah, it started at 8pm over here which is what, 3pm ET? I routinely have to stay up until 6am on Sunday mornings so I like the European events a lot  I have no idea what time (or even day!) the Australian one is gonna end up being…

“The winner gets GSP.”
“It may be better to lose.”

MUHAAHAHHA…

I really wanted Couture to win…until I got to remember how he fights in the first… Started pulling for Vera… Then when Vera hurt Randy with that kick, I just couldn’t stand the sight of Randy losing…

The only way I can explain that decesion is that the judges gave Randy points for controling the cage. I didn’t think he did any real damage.

can not believe that decision in the couture fight, vera clearly won!!! i hate dana white and i love randy but that was vera’s fight, what did randy have 1 takedown? his fight was as boring as jake shields.

on other notes i;m glad bisping is inning again and good job to hardy another couple years that kid could be deadly. y is every1 hating the brits??

UFC judging is getting ridiculous. BUT these fighters better learn to not let it go to the judges in the first place.

Didn’t realize that pinning up against the cage was scored higher than strikes and knockdown from a knee…and getting mount. Oh well. Vera has forgot how to finish fights…he needs to get some kind of killer instinct back.

Who appoints/trains judges?

I don’t know about overseas events…but the athletic commissions are responsible for the judges. As for their training…good question.
