PRELIMINARY CARD
Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Chris Tuchscherer
Justin McCully vs. Mike Russow
Todd Duffee vs. Tim Hague
Nick Catone vs. Mark Munoz
Marcus Aurelio vs. Evan Dunham
Ed Herman vs. Aaron Simpson

MAIN CARD
Randy Couture - Decision
Keith Jardine - should be a good fight
Jake Rosholt - How’s Leben’s TD defense?
Nate Marquardt - I really like Maia but Marquardt is more complete
Brandon Vera - Better at every part of the game

PRELIMINARY CARD
Chris Tuchscherer - Gotta go with the MN boy. Gonzaga too inconsistant.
Mike Russow - McCully is on his way out.
Todd Duffee vs. Tim Hague - no idea. should be a good fight.
Mark Munoz
Marcus Aurelio - Another up-and-comer agaist a mid tier vet. tough to call.
Aaron Simpson - Big step up in competition.

Nog by submission
Silva by TKO
Leben KO
Maia sub
Vera
Gonzaga isn’t really incosistent Werdum has his number and he lost to really good heavyweights in Carwin and Couture.
Don’t care about the rest.

Nog is one of my 3 favs ever…but have to pick Randy
Jardine by TKO
Leben
Maia
Vera
Gonzaga

MAIN CARD
Randy Couture vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira - Randy- I’ve heard Nog’s camp isn’t going well.
Keith Jardine vs. Thiago Silva -Jardine-
Chris Leben vs. Jake Rosholt -Rosholt-
Demian Maia vs. Nate Marquardt -Marquardt- He’s got Maia covered nearly everywhere and his BJJ isn’t far off of Maia’s.
Krzysztof Soszynski vs. Brandon Vera -Not sure-

PRELIMINARY CARD
Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Chris Tuchscherer -GG-
Justin McCully vs. Mike Russow -Justin “The nsane1” Mccully-
Todd Duffee vs. Tim Hague -Duffee- I’m really excited to see Duffee. Monster athlete.
Nick Catone vs. Mark Munoz -MUNOZ-
Marcus Aurelio vs. Evan Dunham -AUERLIO-
Ed Herman vs. Aaron Simpson -HERMAN-

I’m pulling for Nog, but I think Randy will win. Judging on their last fights, Nog looked terrible vs Mir, and Randy held his own in the first round vs. Lesnar before getting beat. Randy via decision.

Silva via TKO

Rosholt

Nate - too good overall and much stronger, I don’t think Maia stands a chance

Vera

Gonzaga

Chris Leben vs. Jake Rosholt
Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Chris Tuchscherer
Marcus Aurelio vs. Evan Dunham
Ed Herman vs. Aaron Simpson

I like all of these match-ups becuase of what they have in common. All feature an up-and-comer against solid mid tier vets that seem destined to stay in the mid tier. Hard not to pull for the new guys but these are all tough match-ups for them and significant step-up in competition.

Vets are looking at the possibility of career gatekeeper status or possibly being cut, and the young guns are looking for a huge step forward in their careers. Should make for some intense fights.

Hopefully we get to see at least one of them. Looking at the main card, it is certainly possible to see a few full three round fights.

I’ll give it a shot. It’s just an opinion, right?.?

I really like this card. I don’t care if the main/co-main event fighters
are all coming off of losses.

Fight Card:
Randy Couture vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira = Randy by decision(by controlling NOG on the ground)
Keith Jardine vs. Thiago Silva = Jardine by KO (Silva didn’t do so well against
the last unorthodox fighter he fought)

Chris Leben vs. Jake Rosholt = Leben by KO (hungry for a win)
Demian Maia vs. Nate Marquardt = Marquardt by KO (Maia won’t be able to handle Nate’s aggression, GNP/standup)

Krzysztof Soszynski vs. Brandon Vera = Vera by KO (much better striker)

Gabriel Gonzaga vs. Chris Tuchscherer = Real tough call here. Chris T. is a vet, just not in the big show.
Edge goes to Gonzaga for the win.

regards,

Randy Couture vs. Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira - Nog of old would beat Randy, but the Nog we’ve seen is not that Nog. Randy by decision.
Keith Jardine vs. Thiago Silva - I like Jardine a lot, but this is a poor matchup for him. Silva by KO in the second. I’ll be rooting for Jardine.
Chris Leben vs. Jake Rosholt - Rosholt is one of the best collegiate wrestlers ever. If he uses a good game plan, he should win.
Demian Maia vs. Nate Marquardt - Marquart, by all accounts, should win this fight. He’s much more complete, but I see him getting over confident and getting subbed late in the second.
Krzysztof Soszynski vs. Brandon Vera - Krzysztof, by way of having a cooler name, and not being incredibly overrated.

Randy vs Nog - Randy will win. The Nog of late fights like a B grade fighter.

Jardine vs Silva- Jardine is simply too tough for silva. Jardine will bloody silva up, probably make several demon-like faces like he did w/ chuck, then for the post fight interview give an almost eloquent post fight wrap up and return to his nice guy self.

War Techno viking!

Do you have any further information regarding this? I’d be interested to hear what’s not going well with Nog’s camp.

tmoney1,

I’ve heard rumours that Nogueira was getting knocked out in sparring leading up to this fight.

The main fight I want to see is Maia vs. Marquardt. I’ve watched most of Maia’ instructional DVD’s (which are great) and want to see how he deals with Marquardt’s aggression and well-roundedness. I’m really, really hoping he pulls out the win (submission, fingers crossed).

My picks… Couture (decision), Jardine (decision), Marquardt (KO),Vera (decision I think), Gonzaga (KO most likely)

MAIN CARD
Randy Couture- by decision… he won’t fall into the traps others have.
Thiago Silva- TKO Rd. 1… Jardine has no chin and Silva has much faster strikes.
Chris Leben- by dec… IMO this is somewhat of an easy fight for Leben to get back on track.
Nate Marquardt- by dec… Marquardt’s too good all around to lose.
Brandon Vera- TKO Rd. 2… Vera’s ground game is good enough for him to feel comfortable teeing off on the Polish Experiment.

PRELIMINARY CARD
Gabriel Gonzaga- SUB Rd. 1… another gimmie fight for someone the UFC likes.
Justin McCully- by DEC
Tim Hague- by DEC
Mark Munoz-by DEC
Marcus Aurelio- by DEC… Dana didn’t bring him back to lose, another setup fight.
Aaron Simpson- by DEC… say goodbye to Herman (hopefully for good).

Randy Couture via Decision
Keith Jardine via Decision
Chris Leben via it being a warm up fight
Nate Marquardt Via decision
Krzysztof Soszynski -just a gut feeling

preciate the info BW. Nog hasn’t looked so hot in his last 3-4 fights, and I think he’s really starting to show his age after almost 40 fights. That’ll wear a fighter down.

Yeah I’m very interested in the Marquardt/Maia fight. Maia is a submission genius, but Nate is stronger, bigger, and his JJ isn’t too far from Maia’s. I’m def pulling for Nate.

Couture by decision
Jardine by KO
Leben - stoppage
Marquardt by total domination
Soszynski by submission (Kimora). He’s from my town too, so gotta show some support

and the fun continues

MAIN CARD
Randy Couture - TKO, I think Mogueira’s taken too much punihment over time and Couture’s good with strategy
Thiago Silva - could go either way, I just think his striking is cleaner
Chris Leben - he’s REALLY got something to prove
Nate Marquardt - He’s just on a roll right now.
Vera - I think Soszynski can pull the upet, but if the real Vera shows up he’s done.

PRELIMINARY CARD
Gabriel Gonzaga - very few guys hit ilke Carwin or wrestle like Randy. I mean Chris is no slouch, but Gonzaga has faced better guys. But could be the same as Vera, it’s Gonzaga’s to lose not Chris’s to win in my opinion.

Mike Russow - the boy is a tank
Todd Duffee - I think he’s hungrier
Mark Munoz - just watch his old fights
Marcus Aurelio - nod to the vet
Ed Herman - I just like this guy and want to see him come up in the ranks.

excuse my ignorance… i am a new fan to UFC/MMA.

are any of these fights for a contender position?
