Twitching

Has anyone ever had a ‘twitching’ in their chest before, or know anything about it. It only lasts for about an hour and i’ve only had about 3 times in my life.

Not in the chest, but I’ve had it in the legs and arms. I probably get it 3-4 times a year. Kinda cool ain’t it!!

Yeah, i’ve had it in my chest. One time i was sitting at the table wearing a tank top and my pec just started flexing on it’s own, not really flexing, it was more like a “twitch” as you say. Not very strong, and I could have stopped it, but I just let it go cause it was kind of cool. My dad was like “what the hell is the matter with you, boy”

I get that a lot, but it always scares the shit outta me. I don’t like the idea that I can’t control my body. I’ve had it in my chest a lot, but my girlfriend also says that my leg twitches once in a while too. It’s pretty fuckin scary if u ask me…

I’ve had this a couple of times too, particularly in my shoulder… I’m under the impression it’s from the neurons being over stimulated. Taking a 100mg pill of potasium seems to calm it down, so I think it’s a potasium/sodium imbalance. And I actually kinda like it now (impress your friends!)

I don’t mean to scare you all, but this is one of the symptoms of ALS, otherwise known as Lou Gherig’s disease. It’s not supposed to be hereditary and in fact the cause is not known, however, I’ve had twitching in my legs, arms, shoulders, and chest at various times in the past 12 years. I’m 42 now; my dad died from ALS at 60.

I'm of the opinion the twitching is common to many people and that it's not necessarily an indication of a problem. If in doubt, ask your doctor.

I read in a magazine not too long ago that twitching like that is caused by not enough magnesium in your diet. Since I started taking ZMA, I have not had the problem anymore.

Yeah i also had that a couple of times just in my shoulder though once it happened and it twiched maybe 10 times and another time it twiched for nearly 15 mins (in class) me and my friend just watched and laughed.

I have to second Steve’s notion: It’s a lack of potassium. I used to get twitches a lot when I was a teenager and even through college when I was training hard. Now I have a banana in my smoothie every morning and never have a problem. --t.
