$599 at total strength and speed… looks cool but also looks like a huge pain in the ass. Have to use a collar between every plate.
Thoughts?

The thing is nuts. I am working on a cheaper alternative.
I wish the guy talked more about the science behind it in the video. Is there anything out there that shows that barbell oscillation has any positive effect on training?
That thing looks like it would snap your shit up.
why not just use bands to tie plates/KBs to the bar?
i know this wouldn’t work with exercises done from the floor but so what, the clean and press in particular looked very gimmicky/awkward. Bench, squat, press less so. The chins looked completely arbitrary and pointless.
Looks like a waste of money.
lol americans
Definitely not a gimmick. I got to see a personal demonstration from the guy that makes it. It is a great idea. I don’t think too many people are going to fork out that kind of cash for one… I am seriously considering it.
Seems like you could just use a stick of PVC pipe for this kind of stuff.

I would ask where you are from but I probably wouldn’t know where it is because I don’t give a shit about anywhere else in the world.

It is much higher test. They were saying it has been tested with over 500lbs. Same idea as PVC just taken to a higher level. Again, 600 bucks is crazy for something like this but you can use it for a ton of different exercises/develop a ton of different skills with it.
The “scientific” language the guy is using is making me cringe.
Shake weight!
This bar reminds me of that bamboo bar that Louie Simmons demonstrated, just alot more springy.

I’m sure part of the high cost is due to the engineering (and hopefully testing) costs; o ensure the thing will stand up to use. There certainly seems to be a definite safety approach (thats what all the collars are for) especially with the litigation they could be subject to.
Wow. This bar would never work in 99.999% of gyms. To load it, you have to have two people load plates on at the same time, place collars between every plate, and set the safety pin correctly. Can you imagine how people will screw this up?
Looks like a giant dildo to me…
