Disclaimer, if you’re easily grossed out, I apologize, but there is some disgusting stuff in this post.
Hey all, long time lurker first time poster. I’ve been doing 5/3/1 pretty religiously since beginning training in August of 2012 and have seen satisfying results. The program and its countless variations gets me pumped to train and I intend on riding that wave until that’s no longer the case. Recently, I decided to give the Boring But Strong Challenge a shot and got through about 2 weeks of it, when after a pretty brutal squat day, I found a pretty sizable bump on my anus while showering. Naturally, a freaked the hell out and started searching stuff online and realized it was a hemorrhoid. My father has had them in the past and he pretty much confirmed it too.
My question is, has anyone dealt with this and still trained? It’s not so much as its painful, but rather just sore and uncomfortable. Currently I’m benching with no leg drive and not squeezing my glutes when I overhead press. I’m taking a week or two off from squatting and deadlifting because I feel like that just aggravates the damn thing. I have access to a sled so on lower body days I’m just going real high volume of backwards/forward sled drags (I train in my garage). My doctors appointment is the 23rd of October and there’s no way in hell I could go 10 days without training.
Any suggestions/tips to help me weather this stupid thing? Appreciate any input.
