Training Personal Records

i was a PR whore tonight. i hit two lifting PR’s and a video PR- 4 vids in one training session:)

this was the last session in this training cycle

3 board bench press +20lb PR
585x1- left some in the tank on this one

bench-full ROM +20lb PR for a 4 rep set

immidiately after - bench 405x8 - this tied my all time best rep PR with this weight. the fact that i hit it after all this crap,i’m very happy

this was my video PR:)

floor press-dumbells-paused
140’sx14

DL 5x4 with 465.

On a side note, Hatfield is a madman.

5 sets of 3 with 355 on squat.

5 sets of 3 with 210 on bench.

A great day for lifting!

565x3 squat w just a belt

A year ago I could only do one, and even then I dont think it was as deep

Well I’m not 100% pleased with this, not 100% pissed either. The program is great, and the strength is there, (I hit 575x2even deeper than my 565x3 last week, I should post that video as well) but I guess I got a little mental. Dunno if I let the 600 intimidate me, or if i just had an off night on the little things - specifically I took this one set earlier and lost my tightness at the bottom. even here not as tight as i coulda been, gotta remember to throw my elbows under teh bar and I feel liek my stance may’ve been off. Well, for all that, here’s 600x2 (first one parallel or a bit below, second prob high)

14" deadlift

585x6 suited. Major PR. I’ve never really worked from this height before but considering my best ever of the floor is 600x1 I think this is progress.

Really weird. I’m having trouble with lockout which has never been an issue. Second, pulled with a regular bar today and my grip was worse than on the axle? I only pulled three the first set, then strapped up (fucking gay as hell) and pulled 6. Will get the video up but wanted to share.

Monopoly

vaginitis was flaring up tonight but i still hit a 40lb PR.

Front squat off pins against bands-the band tension is like hitting a brick wall.

405x1x3

I assume this wouldn’t get 3 whites, but I still feel pretty good about myself right now.

Any advices is welcome, or if you wanna bust my balls, that’s cool too…

hopes video loads

505x1

Thanks guys

i hate to bust your balls but you really need to work on that form.

-you jerked the shit out of the bar which could in turn pop your biceps right off your arms
-you immidiately rounded your back and let the bar get out in front of you.
-you ramped the shit out of it.

Nah man bust away. I know it’s ugly.

It’s hard to not be excited about it, ya know? That is a huge number for me…

i hear where you are coming from but get that form down and you will be much stronger and be less likely to get injured. now is the time to engrain those motor programs.

meat on reverse band deads with the strong bands whats the tension like at the bottom and top? i just ordered them today to start a new cycle on deads to gain a better lockout

the tension is not linear as you add weight to the bar. i find that if you have 400lbs on the bar you get a certain amount of tension but then when you double it to 800lbs the tension is much less. but for a ball park, using the setup that i do with the bands choked over the top of the rack, the bands take around 250lbs off the bottom. now that’s with just 250lbs on the bar. not sure about the top. when i have 800lbs or more, i would guess i’m getting much less than 200lbs of tension. you’re going to have to play around with it.

405 Squat, 225 bench - 10 lb and 15 lb PR, respectively, although the squat was a bit high.

My deadlift is sucking nuts right now. Not getting my hips through and I stall at the same place every time.

ok cool, hoping it just helps me cure my weak lockout and build up some speed as well pulling around 450-475 right now so it should be maybe between 200 or so for me then i think

if your look’n to increase speed, get some minibands as well.

Bench Press is 415, got that 2 weeks ago, reping 355 4 sets 7-5reps
Squat is 555, got that 2 weeks ago
Deadlift is 585, 2X, got it Thursday. Man those six plates looked sweet on there.

2009-7-12
Incline bench (Start from the bottom)
220 1x3 sets (+5 lbs)

180kg x1 squat recently +10kg

180kg axle deadlift - 12 reps in 75 secs. +5reps

last day of the deadlift cycle. felt pretty productive.

reverse band sumo deadlift -845x1 +20lb PR from last week

the reverse band set with 845 totally fried my hips. we then moved on to full ROM deads. every set felt heavy. i was very happy to get 615x3.

sumo deadlift - 615x3

tonight was bench test night… sort of. i’ve been going back and forther on whether i was going to go for a heavy single or hit a rep PR that’s been alluding me for awhile. I’ve hit 495 and above for singles but never for multiple reps. my goal for tonight was to hit 495 for a double and then hit 405 for a rep PR. i hit both.

bench press 495x2 + 1 rep PR

bench press 405x9 + 1 rep PR

and for shits and giggles, here’s some skull crushers paused at forehead
205x6

time for some time off.
