Reverse Band Deadlift- sumo

Very nice, damn strong grip. I recently used these for a lock out issue, obviously not with the same poundage.
How much “help” do you think your are getting off the floor with the band?

it’s really hard to tell because band tension isn’t linear as you increase the weight but if i had to guess, i would say it takes 200lbs off the bottom and about 100lbs at the top.
785 sounds like a lot but IMO, it won’t be impressive until i’ve worked up to the upper 800’s. i plan to add 40lbs each week for the 4 week cycle.

Squats right…?? Good going!
Yeah Squats mate cheers.
Ya must be good for a mid 6’s raw total at this stage??
Hopefully I’m competing next month on the 19 th in the Scottish unequipped (90kg class). I’m hoping to put in a 640-660 total depending on how high I can get my paused bench to by then its about 170-175 at the minute going to do ME Paused bench next Monday so I will let you know how it goes.
Hows your training going mate?[/quote]
'kin hell… that’d be nice!!
My training’s certainly not going as well as yours… squatting 190x6, benching 135x4 and pulling 220x5 on my last big days. On the way from 110kg back to 100 tho. Sitting around 104.5kg at the moment, hoping to be down by my birthday at the end of July.
Desperately trying to get something going on with my deadlift to be honest. It’s humiliating. Hasn’t gone anywhere in like 1.5-2 years!!
2-board bench:
295-PR+20 lbs.
2009-6-20
2-Board Close Grip
230x8 (PR +3 reps)
245 5x2 sets (PR +15lbs)
1-arm DB Rows (strict)
130 8x3 sets (PR +2.5 lbs)
So I know this is training PRs, but I can’t find the meet thread, so this seemed like as good a place as any to post.
Had my second competition yesterday, kinda disappointed myself. It was the SPF middle Tennessee championship in Cookville TN. I competed raw at 220. (you get knee wraps, belt, and wrist raps raw in the SPF)
The meet ended up taking all day in a venue where the AC was woefully under powered. It was probably 85 degrees. Took my first squat at about 10:30 in the morning and didn’t finish my last pull until after 6 PM. I learned I need to work on my conditioning. Apparently almost no one preregistered and they weren’t prepared for the number of people that showed up. We had 4 flights of 15 lifters bench for perspective. Anyways, I was worn out by the time I had to bench. The meet went like this:
Squat: 450-2 whites, 500-2 whites, 3 whites means you went too deep right? The same judge gave me the red light both times for depth, the other side judge said I was plenty deep, so whatever. Didn’t take 3rd attempt because the 500 was quite a struggle and I really didn’t think I could even add 5 pounds.
Bench: 350 easy, 385 miss couldn’t get it off my chest, 385 close but couldn’t lock it out. I just had no energy. I had done 385 easy in the gym a week earlier, and was actually planning a shot at 400 this meet.
So at this point I was pissed off at myself and to make sure I had energy for deads, I swallowed 2 spike capsules before warm ups, and was kind of tingly by the time I got on the platform.
Deadlift: 535 easy, 550 easy, 575 got it an inch or two from lock out and just barely couldn’t get my hips through, it would have been a 20 pound pr.
No actual PRs, but both squats and both deadlifts are meet PRs (this was my first time squatting in competition). It was also my first full meet so my total is a PR (1400). My goal was 1450 and I felt like I left 35+ pounds on the bench and 25 pounds on the deadlift because of conditioning. Oh well, back to the gym, I think I at least learned something I can build on.
Video to be posted as soon as I get it off my girlfriend’s camera.

My benched staled out at 160 for 2 or so years and just broke past 160 at the start of this year, stalling on a lift sucks ass I didn’t want to bench really by the end of the second year.
I’m cutting weight at the MO as well (96-97 at the minute so still a bit of a ways to go) hopefully I will not see to much of a decrement in strength from the cut.
Hopefully you can hit some PRs in the deadlift soon mate.
Benched 140kg x 11 (+1 rep PR) (19/6/2009).
Squat PR:
495x8 (PR +3 reps)
These were done during a Sheiko workout. I did 495x3x2 (80%) and then 525x2x3 (85%). I was supposed to do 4 doubles with 495 later in the workout, but decided to get it all over in one set. I did not feel well after these. ![]()
Not a training pr, but hit a 230kg bench in my first meet this weekend. 2.5kg pr over my best in training
3 x 5 with 340 at 80 % on squat
I was going for 4 x 5 with 340, but I’ll take what I can get.
Also, first time I’ve done double bodyweight for 5 rep sets.
I realize these numbers suck compared to what’s been posted here, but I’m proud of them…for now
Maxed today
Bench: 260x1 (PR)
DL: 405x1 (PR)
Squat: 350x1 (PR)
Clean: 225x1 (PR)
Bench DL Clean with belt.
Bodyweight 183

No one comes out of the womb with huge numbers.
Anyway, I pulled 405, then 415 today. Didn’t tape the 405 because I didn’t expect to get it, then got the 415 a few minutes later on tape. Looks sorta retarded because I was about to pull and started to jerk, then realized I was gonna hurt myself, then pulled with a little better form. I might post it later just to get some criticism on my form.
