haha nice, some serious craftsmanship
BW + 80 lbs x 4 reps
I had never even done that much for a single, so I was pretty excited for this.

Chins…
Dips I’ve done 2 sets of 6 with 90, followed by a set of 4 with 105

Nice job.
Monday Squat: hit 475 for a triple with just a belt. The third rep damn near killed me. I also have a problem with depth on raw stuff. In the gear, the suit stops me at the right height. But raw, I tend to just squat until I can’t go down any more. Need to work on that if I’m going to maximize my raw work. I’m so used to just going as low as possible for football that I have no idea where parallel is unless there’s a layer of poly stopping me.
And yesterday I did 5 Prowler sprints with 90 sec rest without puking (30 yds down w/low handles and 30 yds back w/uprights = 1 sprint; 70lbs on Prowler = I’m a twat), which is a PR from the first two times where I puked on my neighbor’s driveway and in the planting next to our front door. I felt sick for 2.5 hours afterwards but managed to keep my lunch down this time. The Prowler is a bitch and a half. If it won’t get you into shape, nothing will.

Just to pis meat off and make sure I try and stay ahead of him I went and pulled a 9lb PR this weekend My second 700 and over DL got 709lbs. Its was a grind but I got it. Opened with an easy 650 and then did the 709 and needles to say didnt try a third I was smoked.
I am the last lifter on the video I put together. It was a great day all around for us.
You have a very unorthodox deadlifting technique. Great pull.
Yhea its a bit unique and I just started doing it a few months ago. I am naturally strong as a conventional puller the only prob being my left leg was torn pretty much completely off as a child and reattahced and it face about 45 degrees out so it made me take a much wider grip on the bar to get away fro the knee, so I simply then have moved my feet out about 2 inches and taken an inside grip to get around that. Seems to work, My best conventional was 680 in a meet last year. They are close but Im abit stronger in this new style I still train most days with he conventional to really nail the low back and hams hard. [/quote]
Dang that was a LONG deadlift Phill!
6/17/09
Front Squat… 265lbs. 1RM
Standing Shoulder Press… 160lbs. 1RM

Good time for this post. I hit two PRs in the deadlift last night, ending with a 55lbs PR (since March 30). My form was atrocious on the last one, it wouldn’t have passed in competition, but I got it without hitching. I got video, but I don’t want to get laughed out of here.
form always looks like crap on max attempts. next time it will look better. put up the vid. trolls will be shot.

I run a small gym where I have clients compete against each other in a fun positive enviroment around three times a year. Most guys are novices, and I have a record board in the gym where I record their PB’s in the squat-bench-clean-overhead-deadlift. We use no equipment, not even a belt. I think competition is the best way to motivate clients to train harder.
Anyway, the other day I joined a crappy forum and pretty much said the same thing, the response I got from those clowns knocked me over. I had to run to a mirror to check I wasnt growing horns.
Now to the point, they then went to my website and posted a video of a a 16yo boy powercleaning with ordinary form. This boy has exceptional lifting form, but on this day, he was going for a 1 1/2 times bodyweight powerclean, first time he ever attempted it, so we thought we would film it.
He powercleaned that 220lbs weihghing 147lbs, and all those clowns could do was critisize his form. I’m 47, I know the difference between good form and bad, I also no the difference between effort and quitting, they did the same with other pics.
I’m staying here where its nice and safe.
Great vids by the way you guys, very inspiring.
180kg x 5 (+1 rep hollow victory has 2 or three left in the bank but I pussied out reckoning that I am going to pull heavy Saturday so I would keep some in the tank.)
140kg x 13 (+3 reps again fairly hollow victory.)

Ya must be good for a mid 6’s raw total at this stage??
bottom up front squat against bands- this is the mack daddy of all squat variations. IMO, if you can do this variation, all others are cake. this kicked my ass. I’m calling it a PR since it’s the first time i’ve done them.
315x3x5
last week wednesday…rack-pulls (2" below knee-cap) 295 x5
monday…floor press 195x3
215x2
today…rack-pulls (same height) 340 x 2
the rack-pull PR’s are all beatable . since squatting aint happening right now , maybe I’ll hit another cycle of rack-pulls after a week or 2 of deads .
not squatting sucks

Hopefully I’m competing next month on the 19 th in the Scottish unequipped (90kg class). I’m hoping to put in a 640-660 total depending on how high I can get my paused bench to by then its about 170-175 at the minute going to do ME Paused bench next Monday so I will let you know how it goes.
Hows your training going mate?
