Shit… Looks like there was some in the tank too. Smolov really seems to be doing the job!![/quote]
It’s funny to think that way back 2 weeks ago I was psyched to hit 525x3, and yesterday I had to do 525x5x5. That was a PR +1 set (I had to do 525x5x4 on Friday), or a PR +65lbs, since my best 5x5 was at 460 during the Base Meso Cycle. Can’t keep track anymore, brain is fuzzy.

Doesn’t make sense, does it?
I just do what the little sheet of paper tells me. I figure I’m not the first one to do it. Smolov wouldn’t lie. Right?

I know - he’s freakin’ me out. The guy’s not human…any more.
Here’s the thing, Modi. I follow your log and you hit these PR’s when you’re tired and broke down. You’re raising the bar for everyone and invalidating our excuses.
It’s hard, y’know?

Thanks Modi. I’m still a whore - just a less ostentatious one.

Heheh. Today was one of those days. Everything still hurt from Sunday’s Squat session.
Squat:
555x3x2 (PR +1 set)
Luckily I have two days off before I Squat again. Recovery is getting tougher each day…

Nice work. Good to see someone else suffering on Squats!
Switched to sumo DL-ing, and went for a 1RM during my “1” week of 5/3/1.
455X1 (+30 from conventional)

Just got done 3 weeks of maxing out to see where I am in comparison to my end-of-the-year-goals…I hope all of the links work!

Damned fine work there. You are putting up some great numbers.
455x7 deadlift @ 215
w/ straps
Thanks a ton Modi, coming from you that means a lot! I was actually thinking of entering the PL contest that you mentioned in your log (except at 220lbs.) I’ve never done one before but it might be a good learning experience for me…
Thanks again bro
tested raw Prs last monday
bw 143
squat 405 (11 inch box)- 15lb pr!
dead lift 435(straps)- 10lb pr
bench 230-no progress from last month
i got a vid of 405 to a 12.5 inch box today, planned on repeating the same lift but still feeling mondays workout
(fast forward 30 seconds for the lift)

Are you talking about the USAPL Raw Nationals? There should be some very good competition there. I’m pretty sure you have to have competed at another 3 lift USAPL meet in 2008 or 2009 and have a total to be eligible.
I think you’d do very well at that meet, so if you are serious you may want to look for a local/state USAPL meet beforehand just to get a total. PM me if you are interested, or let’s move this over to my log or your log so as not to pollute the PR thread.
I’m sure everyone is sick of my Squat PR’s by now, but if I have to suffer, so should you…
Squat:
555x3x4 (PR +2 sets)
