Training Personal Records

I am starting to PR every time I go heavy on every lift, it feels good.

200 *1@190 overhead strtict press could of prob done 10 pounds more.

310*1 raw bench

Touching my benches and sinking my squats (well… ish). Whatcha all reckon, how far away are they??

Squats - 290kg/640lb x2 (1st and 2nd set)

Bench - 205kg/450lb x1 (3rd and 4th set)

Number 2 on set 2 was the best one. It looked about 1" high.

The other ones look from 2-3" high.

Yeah a 42 at your size would be pretty tight. I weigh about the same as you and I wear a 44. I can hit depth with 560+. But the straps are super loose so that makes it easier.

405x1 Deadlift.

I am so incredibly stoked about this. You have no idea.

395x1 bench with my metal bash. have a deload next week, which i desperately need, then a few weeks of commands before my meet.

still workin on my suit/brief combo tho. the metal briefs and suit seem to be too much for me as i already have trouble keeping the knees out…

Nice job man.

What felt better, 3 plates or 4? Obviously getting 4 is more of an accomplishment but something about that 3 plate milestone…

Nice job on the bench. The briefs and/or suit might not be completely seated up in the crotch area. How many times have you used them and are they really tight?

A little trick that I used to do when I had trouble with the knees coming in w/ my Ace Suit was to roll the legs up - maybe a 1/2 inch or so. It’s usually recommended for guys w/ stumpy legs like myself, but it might help you out. Good luck.

decline fat bar:
315x2 +25  so pumped this is better than my best with a regular bar, this week i really took advantage of filling my chest with air and touching low, very happy with this as my last week on this movement after 4 weeks of banded pin presses, i think ill try to get up to 6-10 reps with 275 and go from there

Thank you!
Honestly the 4 plates felt so much better. Three plates seemed so pedestrian to me. Like anyone could, and should be doing. 4 plates, on the other hand, not everyone can do. So I’ve finally felt like I’ve done something the average joe just can’t. And isn’t this what training is about really? Working hard at something, and to do something, the average person can’t.

Something is only an accomplishment if it isn’t easily replicated by the masses. That’s what I think anyway.

Squat
315x7 (+2 reps)

45 degree Legpress
760x6 (+130 lbs)

And I wasn’t expecting any PRs today…

Snatches (please don’t mock me!)

04/04/2009

Snatches
45x3
95x2
105x2
115x2
135x2
135x2 (second rep failed)
135x2 (second rep failed)

One rep PR. Additional 135 lbs. in total workload with the snatches.

Hit a 10 pound PR on the DL

535x2 …long, slow, trembling grind on the second one. I was way out of position for the lockout.

And earlier in the week, a 715 lockout in the squat rack, dropping down another hole on Tuesday.

Dammit. Need to start just setting up a camera and running it. Not getting videos of anything at the moment.

2 PR’s over the weekend.

Axle clean and press; 300x3, one clean, 3 presses.

Stone load; 385 to 56". I think that’s a 20lb pr, not sure.

NO CLUE what is going on right now, just happy.

Monopoly

squat, ATG, 330X 7 this morning!

reps #6 and 7 were slow and really killed me- vision went black and white after rep 7 for a few seconds, but i didn’t pass out. such fun, and it’s a rep PR!

I already posted this in my log, so for those of you who follow along (all both of you), please ignore my multiple postings…

I finished up the Smolov Squat Base Meso Cycle and tested my new max on Saturday. My previous max of 535 was set at a meet on 2/28/09.

4/3/09:
Squat 585x1 (PR +50lbs)

been hitting tons of pr’s leading up to my comp. Think I am kind of figuring this lifting thing out finnally.

Hit a 300lb stone for two singles finnally.

got 4 reps on a car deadlift for the first time

Log press 220x5 and 235x2

Squat 585x1 (PR +50lbs)

I actually don’t believe that.

A 50lb PR in <5 weeks?? When you’re already squatting a shit-ton.

That’s absolutely amazing mate. Well done!!

Ya gonna do the intense?

Pretty outrageous huh? Yes, I’m doing the 2 week switching phase right now, and then I’ll do the intense after that.
