Absoutely KILLS my old PR coming into this cycle of 245kg x2 in full gear with my straps up.
Depth’s still a bit away, but it’s getting there.
And check out how good it is to have good spotters. They just KNOW when to take it. Even the smallest change in form and their in. I’m lucky to have guys like that around.
Nice work. Why did you leave the suit slippers on?
Cheers!
I left em on cos the suit didn’t really seat properly til my last warm up w/ 260kg. And I figured leaving them on for the 275 sets would make it bind up less, so there would be a better chance of getting to depth
First time posting on this post, but i am pretty stoke to hit my 512 deadlift (convential) up from previous record of 489. I weighed in a soaking wet 186 at the age 23.
Although the people watching me said that was ugliest stiff legged deadlift ever, but i hit it.
No video but I hit a 275x5x4 on box squat this afternoon and I realized a few things.
I finally figured out what all the fuss is about when it comes to weight belts because this was the first time my core gave out before my legs on squats.
I also realized that getting stronger makes training a lot harder, not only does my strength increase more slowly, which was expected, but a 4RM is a lot harder than when I was weaker, even though it’s still a 4RM.
Monday night I hit 405x3 raw on the Manta Ray squat. Not a big number, or a PR, but it’s the first time I’ve done anything heavier than 315 without a suit since I fucked up my hip.

I am STILL sore today because of it too.
That’s a good lift with the blue bar clip of death. Nice work.
this isnt a pr but i did safety bar box squats for the first time since fall and hit 295x3, thought these will help me stay more upright in my new closer stance, looking to get up to 4 plates on this sometime
also dumbell strict rows with knee on bench
85x10 each arm pr of 2 reps
I did 50 reps total with double bodyweight in deads (not consecutively)in my last pull workout. No single set was a PR but the total volume was. I am trying to up my volume on my pulls over the next 16 weeks as I have had to take about 7 weeks off. We’ll see how it goes. Pretty sore from it today.
Figured this was as good as place as any to share.
Hit a dead today of 585. This ties an all time PR for me and it’s after coming back from major low back issues. Also the previous 585 was at at 10lbs more in bw and on a fair amount of supplements. I think I had at least 20lbs more in me but wanted to shut it down.
I haven’t pulled off the floor in over 6 months!!! Guess all the accessory work has paid off some.

Thanks man. We are pretty lucky with our setup, the owners let us do just about whatever we want. I don’t know how you get it done in a commercial gym, that has to be rough. Nice job on that reverse band squat, that’s huge! Purple band??

i’m actually pretty lucky. i’ve been kicked out of every gym i’ve trained in for powerlifting. the owner of this gym is very open to powerlifting. I built a deadlifting platform. He has also bought us some bumper plates, a deadlifting jack, and a really good squat bar. i have pretty much everything i need and what i don’t, he will either buy or i’ll build it.

some members complain but it falls on deaf ears.

Sweet. Would that my requests for real equipment in my gym didn’t fall on deaf ears… We’re barrelling straight for 2 rows of ellipticals and Celine Dion.
Hit a 605lb deadlift the other week (without chalk which is not allowed in my gym). I was so excited that I let the bar go with a little push and subsequently had a gym worker give me a warning. God I cannot wait to get out of college gyms. The “tools” running around are unbelievable as well.
