Rack Pull from bottom of patella
520x3 (PR Weight)

Yesterday I hit a 355lbs squat. Not bad, but I still have a long way to go. I want to hit 500lbs some day in the future.

On a side note, do you guys think it’ll be possible to stay around 180ish and get to the 500lbs squat?

At 5’8 180ish, i think it’s doable. I’m about 5’7 and 165 and I squatted 395 a few weeks ago. My goal is to be close to a 500lb squat @ 181 lbs some time next year.

My coach is a 47 year old who competes in the 181 class. He squatted 562 at his first meet back nine months after tearing both his quads. You can do it!

No, that was this last May at a local meet. He hit 600 at Men’s Nationals this year, but I don’t think he did Master’s Nationals. Of course, he’s been around quite a long time so you may well know him!

Ok as sad as they are here we go (all no wraps, no belt, just t-shirt and shorts…

Bench Press 275lbs
Front Squat ass to grass 135kg
Back squat ass to grass 365lbs
Deadlift 455lbs

Power Snatch 85kg
Power Clean 115kg

I have not trained for a couple of years, so my first goal is to get back up to those levels!!!

Then goals for next year:

300 bench
400 squat
500 dead

snatch 95kg
clean 125kg

Trying to whore it up like marauder…

Couple of PRs the other night

11/19/08

RDLs 495x8
No video, didn’t know how that set was gonna go at all.

Front Squats - 405 x 1 x 2

Finally got to a 405 front squat. Hoping to get at least 6 reps by the end of the year. The video is of my second set.

Also, this is my first time videotaping any of my lifts, and so this is the first time I’ve been able to look at my form. Nice being able to do that.

more weight!

I’ll throw my latest PR’s in from my last ME bench day.

I’m currently training for a single lift bench and single lift deadlift comp in February. During this minicyle i’ve been doing board presses and each week i lower the board by one. As a second movement i’ve been repping 405. unfortunately i’ve been stuck at 7 reps for about 6 months. this past week i finally popped out 8.

also, i hit a weight PR on neutral grip incline dumbell presses paused at the chest. This is a brutal movement for hitting the inner part of the tricep.

youre a badass dude.

Nice poundages for the RDL’s and front squat! Just a question, What are your thoughts on the bit of spinal flexion (butt wink) at the rock bottom of your front squat? I do that too to get rock bottom. Do you see any problems with doing that?

Thanks!

I am concerned somewhat with that, though not as much as most people. I have been trying to go to parallel instead of ass to calves, but on that set, probably because it was a max attempt, I did not keep my form as tight.

Also, this is the first time I’ve been able to see myself lift, so I’ll start doing some things to correct it.

I can say with confidence, though, that I have weak glutes, so that is one problem I need to address.

LOL!!

Your destroy me on backsquats though, man. I’m sure mine has increased substantially, as I’ve brought my front squat up 100+lbs in the past couple months, but I haven’t tested it, and I’ve never felt right doing it.

I’m gonna start incorporating them again soon now that my quad strength has (hopefully) increased - glutes are what’s gonna hold me back, though.

102.5x2 snatch today. Video towards the bottom of this page:

Hit a 435 deadlift today, 10 lb PR, and managed to actually hold onto it for a bit afterwards.

Now it’s time to work the backsquat.

Broke some PRs on This Day I was lifting with my friend.

(Im the one with the shirt on for the record…)

Deadlift 325 for 5 (easy)
Bench Press 250 for 5 Never got it past 2x till that day

I can do more then those PRs now tho.

big day:

safety sqaut bar box sqaut- 345x1, 30 pound pr, i think having 1 leg day a week will do me well and having a second DE day whihc i combine with deadlifts will be sweet,

Also havent done power cleans for more than two months and my old pr was 205, my back was feeling amazing and i did 205x1 with ease i think in a month or less ill have double plates finally, this is sick

122.5x2 clean and jerk. Video near the top of this page:
