Training or Diet?

It seems to me like going to the gym is almost too fun. I go there, I do my reps/sets, and then I drink my PWO shake. People on this site say alot of things like “work your ass off,” or “lift heavy,”. I am doing this and it is not that hard. Maybe overly-motivated? The hard part for me is making sure that every 2-3 hours I am eating good clean food.

Sometimes it is nerve raking because I will be out with friends and they will want me to eat what they eat because they know I am bulking. They don’t understand that a CLEAN diet is not only important for lean muscle mass but also for health. I am a very picky eater. Anyways, I guess my question is “can creating a monster-body be this simple?” I know I am lifting right and I know that I am eating right and I feel I am giving it my all. And it is actually PHYSICALLY easier than I thought it would be. It’s the mental game. And it is time consuming.

hey

can u post ure stats , diet , training program including best max rep

I feel that weight lifting and proper dieting is mostly mental. When your in the right state of mind and motivated to make a change, creating your “monster body” is in short very “simple” in nature, but simple never meant easy.

You’re still relatively inexperienced?

The first few months are ‘easy’. The following years won’t be, but might be more fun if you genuinely enjoy it.

Why ‘few years’? - because that’s what it takes to get close to your potential

I certainly envy you if eating right and hitting the weights hard is easy for you. I take it that you are young. Hit it hard now while it’s easy, it won’t be forever. Eventually the years catch up, and you will have to work harder to see the same gains.

Do you have a monster body?

No wonder you weigh all of 135lb.

How’s that working out for you? Avoiding high calorie foods that is.

Dude, you weight 135 lbs at 5’8", do you really think that a fast food here or there is going to turn you into some fat slob?

Look I’m all for health and eating clean foods when possible, but you are absolutely completely worrying too much about how clean your diet is if you can’t even enjoy a “cheat” meal with your friends from time to time, especially if you are trying to gain muscle mass. That mindset will forever hold you back.

I eat clean because I enjoy the way it makes me feel. I don’t get tempted at fast food joints. My body doesn’t need it. If I want to gain weight I know how. I know the equation. And I’m not affraid of becoming fat. That wasn’t even my question. What mindset are you talking about exactly?

The mindset “that a CLEAN diet is not only important for lean muscle mass”, with the emphasis on “clean”. The mindset that eating fast food is some sort of “temptation”, like it’s some sort of sin to eat fast food.

If you can gain weight eating only clean foods, then great. I’m not saying that you must eat McDonald’s or Taco Bell to progress. What I am saying though is that you don’t need to eat 100% clean in order to gain muscle and be healthy. And that thinking that fast food is somehow evil is a sure fire way to eliminate one of the most calorie dense, cheap and easily available sources of food out there.

Enjoy the process. If you are out with your friends, lighten up a little and enjoy some “cheat” meals every now and then. If you’re already eating 7-8 healthy meals everyday throughout the rest of the week, then 1-2 “cheat” meals during the week isn’t going to sabotage your health or affect your ability to add lean muscle.

Yeah you are right. It’s all about consistency. If I kept eating fast food I’m sure I would screw up my health but an occasional Big Mac might be just what I need. Plus I don’t want to look like a monk.

Worst diet I’ve seen in a while.

Bottom line,… work out like a beast, but if your diet sucks, nothing will happen.

S

I read an article where it said it’s a 100% diet, 100% training and 100% consistency

don’t have the mental fall back that so long as you are good in one area you can slack off in the other

Fuck clean eating nazies, I eat a lot of food and its not all ‘clean’ and I’m not ridiculously fat by any means-and I have gained the most size and strength this way-. A reason beginners get burnt out is because they think they have to eat so clean every single day, you really don’t.

I also hate assholes who go to a party with friends and then wont have a good time since they don’t want to have a drink or eat anything because of ‘diet’ reasons. Then why the fuck did you come out in the first place if your just going to be up tight?
