Training Advice

I would like to put on a little more muscle but what kind of training would be best? I am 17, 5’10,about 168 lbs. My goal would be to get to a physique like shawn crawford lean and thin. I was doing TbT and following the T-dawg diet and I lost about 7 lbs. Any advice on what kind of training?

more pics to come

A quad pic

another one

one more.

lost 7lbs?? why do you feel the need to cut?

well I was around 175 I then saw that shawn crawford weighs 165 so I decided to start lifting more while cutting down. I know dumb.

abs baby. that’s what i like to see. that’s what life is all about. abs.

So you lost more weight because you read that Shawn Crawford weighs less? That makes no sense. You aren’t Shawn Crawford and unless two people are identical twins, weighing the same as someone else doesn’t mean you will look like them. You are rail thin…and you dieted?

Honestly, have half of the guys logging in here gone fucking crazy?

hmmm…actually, there seem to be about ten Ichabod Crane types logging in and showing pics of thems selves to every one that shows any decent gains…

so it’s more like %90 of the people just logging in are fucking crazy…

it’s pretty sad when a slender highschool girl (shellyjean86) has more muscle mass than most of the guys posting pics of themselves…

to the original post…

you look smaller than most of the girls on this site…

eat a fucking sandwich for christ’s sake!

in fact, eat about thirty a day, lift some heavy weights and come back in a couple of years from now…

'fess up man. you’re trying to look like the dude in the movie of your screen name aren’t you?

I actually wanted to see if I could lose weight while following a diet instead of just eating a lot less like most guys do the t-dawg diet works great and I am pretty sure it would work to gain muscle to…after losing the 7 lbs you would think that I I lost a lot of strength but after doing it and following TBT I gained the little muscle I have and strength my bencg went from like 135 to 160. my deadlift from 150 to 205. Not big numbers but improvements.

so does anyone have any advice on what kind of training I should do split, full body, upper/lower. How can I find out how many calories I need. Like I said I am 168 lbs at 5’10, I would like to get down to 165 of lean muscle.

You realy need to gain weight. I weigh 165 and I’m a lot bigger than you.

That is just plain sad.

Now go away.

You are not eating enough, and you think its going to matter what kind of routine you do? Are you kidding me?

First lets do some math. If you want to have 165lbs of LBM, assuming you want to stay at 10%BF, then you will have to get up to 180lbs. Now, if you want to bulk, then you are going to have to bulk up to about 190 or so and then cut down.

SO WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING T-DAWG FOR? Just eat a shitload. Read Berardi’s articles and stop wasting our time.

Alright so I understand that alot of my questions are pretty dumb…but I am not a fitness expert or even a guy who really know what he is doing. One question I do have is how do some people weifh less but look bigger? My goal is to have a physique similar to shawn crawford and he even weighs less then me, how is this ?
My physique goal

I can’t believe you exist. When stats are listed, do you think these are constant weights that never change? Chances are, they weighed Shawn years ago and just keep using the same stats. Most people don’t weigh the same in the afternoon as they do in the morning, but you seem to think Shawn has weighed EXACTLY 165.00000lbs for a decade and that to look like him, you need to lose weight yourself.

Bottom line, even at your age, I would have figured this out. Most stats listed about athletes are NOT exact. I mentioned Jerome Bettis in another thread. There is no way he is only 255lbs, yet his stats have listed him there for YEARS. Please wake the living fuck up before you hurt yourself.

Not only that, but regardless of what someone else weighs, you won’t look just like them just because you weigh the same. Shawn has more muscle than you and less fat than you. You, on the other hand, are a walking stick figure who is trying to lose weight like a primping beauty queen on crack.

Good response but you did not answer my question. I understand that I am skinny but I am asking why it is that although I weigh more he looks heavier and defined at a lighter weight. I also understand that I will not look exactly like him that is why I am saying I want a physique like his, not that I want his. I mean I want to be thin and defined. Since I weigh 168 what do I have to do to lean up? Do I have to bulk then cut or can I lose fat and gain muscle at the same time?
