Gotta go with the triples man, although sometimes they lose stability.

Buying a bunch of double-stacks also hits the spot.

Who of you count calories, and who just eats? ATM I just eat as much clean food as I can (or as my budget allows)

But I keep thinking that if I counted then maybe I could improve even more, because my diet would be more accurate?
Don’t really count calories per se, but I’m definitely “aware” of what I’m consuming.

I know two Stouffer’s Meatloaf in Gravy and 2 pounds of yogurt is about 3,200 calories and 280g protein. I’ll make a mental note and adjust accordingly, nothing too precise as long as it’s in the ballpark.

Haha, people always tell me I look like an angry person at the gym! I’m just like whatever it’s my focused game face lol. Thanks for the motivation.

That’s actually a really good idea. I can’t believe I never thought of something so simple. Just take the nutrition facts for a large bulk amount of food and just eat it throughout the day. My dumbass is actually measuring out each meal. Fuck that shit from now on!!

Never stop bulking! I’m up from around 189 at the beginning of the summer to around 201, hopefully hitting 215 by the end of winter. Lifts are all through the roof too, going for a 600lb deadlift before years end!
Shit must be nice. My lower back is all jacked up right now and I wanted that 600lb DL by February. Oh well, going to the doctor today afterwork to get an MRI prescription to find out if it’s something serious or something dumb.

nice topic

I tend to hate the counting calories/getting anal approach to bulking, but I do also tend to put it on around my gut if I’m not careful.
Just wondering what people do cardio wise when bulking. I’m a big fan of sprints normally, but when bulking I’m thinking about doing regluar steady state in the morning to keep the gut in check!
I know some recommend this as a good way to stimualte the appetite too so it looks like win/win.

Upto 196lbs… from 180lbs a couple months back after a short fat stripping cycle.

Doing well, been eating dirty, and not counting - but the weight gain has been harder than anticipated, i could have done better IMO.

This is due to a couple of reasons… i need to eat more, as i have a higher energy expenditure than i did before, and when i need to eat more (or less) i find that counting calories is what works for me.
Plus i think i need to clean the diet up a bit, i make sure the protein is there (200+g/day min.) and although i am not too high in fat intake, i could increase my EFA’s - and my protein, plus my fibrous carbs - may throw in a little slin too…

I feel like when i neglect the dietary side of things (not tracking macro’s and calories), that i am not making the best of myself.
i know that many here never count calories, but for me, even though i have a good idea how many i am putting away, i think total control is really important - even when bulking.

JMO…

I haven’t looked it up myself, but, I hear that sprints or hit-type sessions after a workout result in an extremely anabolic response. I’ve only heard it around though, but, I’m willing to experiment a bit, and report back in a few weeks.

count me in on the bulk. I just finished a summer cut went from 205 down to 180lbs, got hydrostatic measured and am at 8% bf. Now it’s time to put on as much mass as possible, and finally bench 400 on the way up.

Hitting up the all you can eat sushi bar that is 5 minutes from my house right after i train today.

Life is good.

I was watching “peachtree tv” when a carl’s junior commercial came on. That deluxe burger or whatever the hell it was looked pretty good. Too bad they don’t have those here.

Ive read bits and pieces off this thread, and didn’t really feel I had anything to add until now. Yesterday I attended the Atlantic City pro show.

I’m 6 foot, 225, and boy did I feel tiny. There is no way you get to the size of Tony Freeman, Darrem Charles, Melvin Anthony, etc., without eating your face off. It gives you a whole new perspective standing next to these guys.

Let me also tell you the other thing I saw. All the big guys who were there but not competing (working booths, hanging out), were eating LARGE amounts of food, constantly.

No one was eating little soy burgers so they could hop on the bosu ball, it was larger amounts of steak and chicken and rice to put up massive weight in the gym.

It was a big reinforcement to keep up my hard work seeing these guys, and to continue to try and get there the fastest I can, which will not happen by “clean” gaining 2-3 pounds a year.
