Workout 3-4/week 60-75 min
Deadlift - 315 lbs
Squat - 255 lbs (a real squat no 1/4 squats here)
Bench - 210 lbs
Bent over row - 205
Average diet - try to stay with whole foods, not too much processed crap. 193 lbs ~10% bf
I find it hard to increase muscle thickness (they’re so damn long) but weights are creeping up slowly. Tried to bulk for a while - got to about 210 but I was only gaining fat.
Supps: fish oil, GNC MassXXX before and after workout, whey shake x1 day (~50g protien)
He thinks…scratch that, he KNOWS he has a stellar physique (can;t see it but clearly HE does) and posted here merely to showcase it. You need to first check if the guy is just a skinny guy who wants to add muscle or a waste of sperm (from the point of view of bodybuilding) who wants an online handjob for his efforts. We have a bunch of tall guys here who are committed to gaining mass (Rattler comes to mind right off the bat) This guy does not have the motivation to add muscle that a shorter guy may have.
No prizes for guessing where this lies. /end {thread}

Always the skinny guy, trying to change that…
You won’t change anything without upping your food intake.[/quote]
I have to agree with most here. I think you’ll look a hell of alot more impressive with 60 to 70 lbs to your frame. Being 6’6" I’d shoot for 260lbs. Yeah you’ll put on fat as well as it cannot be avoided when you’re bulking but there are foods you can eat that can make the fat gain minimal. Being a naturally skinny guy myself, I can understand how hard it can be to put solid, lean muscle on. You have to keep pushing for it. Best of Luck
Youre just jealous because you have disgusting bodyfat covering those icky overgrown muscles. Besides your body fat is almost 15%, so youre clinically obese anyway. Take that hater.
I say that if he adds another 5 more lean pounds to his frame, he will be almost as buff as RIPP3DTOLL69 (from the latest article here)
So there…come back when you have a bod da ladiez wanna …er…rod?

From Thib’s “The Truth About Bulking”: http://www.T-Nation.com/readTopic.do?id=1268956
Under the best possible circumstances (perfect diet, training, supplementation, and recovery strategies) the average male body can manufacture between 0.25 and 0.5 pounds of dry muscle tissue per week. That is the amount your natural body chemistry will allow you to build. So we’re talking about around one or two pounds per month. It may not sound like much, but that can add up to twelve to twenty pounds over one year of training.
I’ll post again in 3 years to see if I can add that 60-70lbs.
I’m working on more mass and weight I’m just looking for it to be LBM not fat.
I really think you should allow yourself to gain a little more weight before coming to the conclusion that you “just got fat”.
Packing 20lbs on someone who is 5’5 is completely different from someone like you someone who is 6’6.
Can I also ask you how you are going to approach your goals after reading CT’s article?
I hope you are not limiting yourself to only gaining 1-2 lbs a month. You are just like every other person. Every person who has actually built a physique has had to bulk up. Be reasonable and really see how long it would take you to reach your goals with your current approach. You’re already 39 and time sure isn’t on your side anymore.
You don’t have to “bulk” to be a successful bodybuilder or weightlifter. It’s a matter or personal goals. Just because someone is bulkier or bigger that doesn’t mean they’ve achieved more than you have. It just means they’ve attained THEIR goals. Keep up the good work!
You have no idea how or what I eat so easy with the cheerleader comments.
It doesn’t matter how “clean” you eat. Excess calories are going to be stored in the body as fat. Sure clean foods are better with regard to insulin spikes, thermal effect of food, Omega-6s and the like but if your body can only make so muscle in a day extra calories are useless.
I don’t have a closed mind at all. I’ve tried the bulking thing and watched the fat build. It doesn’t show so much on a guy my height but abs sure dissapear pretty quick going from 10% to 16% bf - less than 12 lbs for me.
I’ve gained 2.5 lbs of LBM in the last month, keeping that up I could be around 215 in a year. I’d be ok with that. No quick fixes in this game.

When you tried to bulk previously, did you try and lift more weight? It worked for me when I try and bulk to try and increase the weight as well. It’s a pain in the ass to bulk for a skinny guy but it can be done. Good luck with your gains.

Keep this in mind, for every 1 lb of fat you gain, you should be gaining 4 lbs of muscle. If you can do that then chances are you are bulking pretty clean. A 4% increase in bodyfat and less then 12 lbs gain total sounds like you just aren’t bulking right.
Give the Anabolic a try for bulking. I did that and in a year and a half went from 165 to 205 with probably a 2-3% bodyfat gain. One of the best clean bulks I’ve ever done. So forget about your abs for the next few years and gain some mass. Just because you lose abs doesn’t necessarily mean you are going to look bad. You would probably look better with worse abs and more muscle in all honesty. Best of luck.
