The Raw Bench Record is Unsafe

amazing , and he seems like a really nice humble guy too, that makes him deserve it even more , hope he slaughters that record.[/quote]

Me too man. I’m sick and tired of Scott claiming to be the world’s strongest man when the only record he holds is a disputable bench record. I say that like the title is nothing, regardless Eric needs to kill that shit

Call me naive, but I don’t believe that for a second.

First, that’s such an unbelievable feat of strength that I have a hard time even really appreciating it. I can only bench 275x2, so it’s hard for me to even fathom or appreciate what that guy is doing.

But from the video, anyone else find it strange that he only had one spotter with 645 raw but had three with the other sets? Like…Christ, god forbid he were to lose it on a rep or something and that one spotter had to save him. Just seemed sort of crazy to me.

Theres no way it never gets broken, imo. Might take 50 years, but it will happen.

Raw, he has a smaller chance of losing it on any given rep, because he’s not having to take into account external forces. The slingshot adds a layer of unpredictability, which increases the chance for a fluke.

Amazing lifting. Hope to see him break the WR.

? This cat has already broken it (in the gym). If he stays healthy it’s his record to break and he’s pretty much gonna be competing against himself, a la Usain Bolt.

Usain Bolt competes though. This cat has yet to and may not.

It would be cool to watch him annihilate the 715 record though.

585 for reps

Long live raw lifting! This is how you do it!

585x8 without a slingshot. good god

Fixed that for ya.

There are no words to do that justice.

Def could’ve gotten that for 12 reps

What is the purpose of the fast half-reps at the beginning? I’ve never seen someone do that before.

Might have something to do with benching 585 …

Holy shit. Imagine that kind of pressing strength in real life. You would have to cautious of breaking the steering wheel while driving. You wouldn’t know whether a door was locked or not when you opened it.

Call me a d!ck but I’m reserving my praise for Henderson and Mendelson. Talk of smashing a record is cheap. JMHO.

You dick!!!

JK. This dude will eventually end up on a platform, just hope its sooner rather than later.
