Squat1000b700 you look fantastic! Great to see in-shape strong as all hell powerlifters out there. The morbidly obese guys was sort-of putting me of the sport there a bit!
I would love to know how you built your base though!
Keep Strong Brother!
first off thanks i have lost ALOT of water lol that is for sure
about how i built my base. this is a long answer i will put it on youtube.
-i played every sport know to man (i used to get in all sorts of trouble in school so they put me in sports)
-i did lots of manual labor (farm work mowing yard. shoveling snow ect)
-I had an awesome ph ed teacher in elementay school.
-canada had really high standards of fitness when i was in school. we got tested on everthing mile run, chins push ups, wall sits, you name it.
i started with bodyweight.
then i started with basics and focused on getting strong as possible.
had an awesome strength coach in college dave williams that louie simmions credits for coming up with idea to use bands with weights
met Jim wendler in 2000 at arizona when i was working in the weight room there. He got me into powerlifting
Jim is also the reason i moved to kentucky from aspen in 2001
now I am stuck here lol Dam it Jim
I will give more details about the kind of lifting i did ect. on video i suck at typing and spelling and grammer and all that jazz but i am really good and running my mouth lol

Just found your log through CBear’s – very impressed. With you (465 on an easy day?) and your trainees.
I have perfect spelling and grammar and no muscles. Somehow I don’t think you’d be up for trading, though.
LOL yes 465 on and easy day … 500 is my normal deload.
i don’t know with the internet these days if you can write well you can make bank lol
from a busness perspective i scare more away then i attract. 90% of the people i train are “normal” i hear what ever happens I don’t want to look like you.
“trust me you couldn’t even if you tried lol”
the oncs that do overcome there fear make some very impressive changes most only training twice a week
Jim
keep up the hard work the strength will come just be happy you can read and write lol

I think we’re going to max out (squat) on saturday, not sure when. Check out my log sometime if you’re bored.
tom i have never claimed to be that smart but it wasnt that hard lol
floor press (back was jacked today so i decided to floor press)
i have a really strong close grip and med grip floor press.
Since i am trying to “look more pretty” now i did wider grip very weird going to take some getting use too.
X3 345 (all done with nice pause)
X3 365
X3 375
then i went even wider
X12 315
all with nice pause
then i did seated hammer shoulder press 3X12
paired with standing cable upright rows 3X12
hanging leg raises strait leg 3x16
paired with dumebell flies 3X12 100lbs dumbells
then 3X12 standing lateral raises very controlled with 70lb dumbell
paired with dumbell kickbacks 3X12 80 lbs dumbell
then for fun i did 100 push ups
and one set of high rep pull downs
Jim
condidering how aweful i feel and how much weight I have lost and that i have changed up what i am doing i am pretty please with how things are going
Just wanted to stop in and give insane props. Your weights are ridiculous man. I’m just a beginner. I’d go to extreme lengths to get anywhere near your level of strength. Good job, and good luck with the recovery stuff.

thank you so much for the kind words.
over the years i have watched some very normal average people get really big and strong. Ask Louie Simmons at westside barbell about some of the guys that come into that place and the kind of size and strength added. with or with out drugs it is pretty impressive.
here are my keys to getting stronger and bigger
find stronger people. lift with them. (i know plenty of people that drive serval hours to lift with strong people)
if you can’t find stronge people to lift with call strong people and talk to them.
Keep things simple. get strong at rows, goodmornings and the basic lifts, squat, bench, deadlift, millarty press.
eat LOts let me repeat LOTS of good food (big meals not small little ones)
eat Lots let me repeats LOTS of good food
Sleep and then sleep somemore
put in the time … it takes years and years of training to get really strong
it seems so simple and it is but so few are willing to pay the price.

Thanks for the reply man.
I really do need to start eating more, my diet has been shit ever since I had abdominal surgery back in august, it really slowed my training down too. I just moved back to PEI ( cool that you’re canadian too. I really like alberta, my dad’s first posting with the rcmp was near edmonton), and i’m in the process of finding someone stronger to help me out.
I’m currently hoping to 600/400/600 single ply as a 220, before I’m out of juniors.
Out of curiosity, how much sleep is considered a lot? I usually go for around ten hours a night.
Wow 10 hours sleep I want your life that’s plenty
that is a nice total you are working on.
Two things that helped me alot were. Weighted 45 degree back extentions. I would use a cambered bar at my best I think I did 315x6
heavy one arm rows one set to failure (krock rows). If I could get over 20 reps I would move up 10lbs. At my best I did 150s for 50 reps
I would do those once a week. Start off slow with those they are ass kickers
Don’t be afraid to throw some x12 heavy leg press in there as a shock to the system just make sure you pull you low back into the seat
