thanks i try and keep things as interesting as possible while keeping it for the most part based around lifting …
funny you ask about pendlay lol I am thinking about putting some rows from the floor into my program.
i think every program has its place based on your goals and where you are at.
I like pendlay beacause he is a lifter and he was one strong SOB
His programming is simple
i like what he does with begginers
Do you have any specific questions reguarding his programming ?
As Charlies P said the best program is the one that you are NOT currently on
i did cambered bench bar (pretty much normal bar) goodmornings I have not done a normal bar goodmorning in years so i took it really light back is starting to feel go so the last thing i want to to do is mess it up lol
worked up to 3X3 with 365 9very easy but i didnt want to push it)
then i dropped to 275 and did 12 super deep
then i did penlay rows ( basically a bent over row that up set down on the floor everytime) super strict no hips at all row to belly
did 5 at 135
5 @ 185
5@ 225
5@ 275 (this was tuff)
5@275
then 12 @ 185
I really liked these i can see how getting retarded strong on these would really help
walking lunges super strict with broom stick
then 30lbs dumbells
then 2 sets of reverse lunges with 30lbs 12 each leg focusing on glutes
then two sets on 30 on 45 back raise paired with hanging leg raises for 20
then for shits and giggles we did tabata (great iphone app btw apple pm me and i’ll tell you where to send the check lol)
push ups … rubber band pull a parts with mini … tri kick downs with monster mini
great way to get some extra upper in and conditioning at some time
This week has been one the best i have had in a very long time. I am so thankful for everything i have been given and for the new lease on life that i have.
This is taken from an artical on stonglifts link is below
Wow
I will get good these … That is how you get better … Get strong at things you suck at
The bar returns to the floor after each rep. The bent row is actually best done as an explosive movement and the bar is moved fast. I have trained many people who could do this exercise with 350 or more lbs.
I myself have done reps with 425, Ed Coan, who also knows how to do them properly, has done reps with over 500lbs without his back ever coming above parallel with the ground. That is stronger than Dorian Yates or Ronnie Coleman.
I did rows with Coleman once, actually, and I was far stronger than he was. He could not do more than 350lbs strictly although he could do over 500lbs by standing almost all the way up at the completion of each rep.
Ed Coan is probably the strongest person on these, although one power-lifter I trained did manage 525 for a double done strictly.
