Wow, $1.50 trainer is only 180 pounds, or 150, whatever, i dont think anyone real cares anymore. Still 50 cent is bigger than him. Anyone else find the irony in that?

Oh, of course. Because I know that I totally keep track of everyone’s AIM screen name. I’m sure everyone else here does too. How could we be so stupid.
you guys should be happy you ruined my thread, this was meant as something serious but you kids prevailed.
i was going to make another thread on how using a bosu ball is actually benefitial( seen so many articles bashing it) but im not going to, because all you kids here are close minded, and all of you are actually the trolls.

you can curl in anywhere that isn’t meant for specific lifts that need that area.
bosu ball training isn’t even close to being on par with weight lifting/sprints/smart strentching/ actually competing in athletics.
My 2 cents… I use the squat rack to do heavy barbell curls and I don’t consider myself inconsiderate at the gym by any means. I wouldn’t use it if I wasn’t doing heavy curls, but I’ll go as high as 165 for set of 3 reps. I use the squat rack because it accommodates the training I am doing. I wait my turn for a piece of equipment and I use it as I see fit. I’d much rather see someone doing heavy curls at a squat rack than a bunch of dumbasses locking and unlocking their knees and calling them squats.

$1.50,
You’re right. The bosu ball is actually a great training tool. It keeps the new years resolution crowd and the “I just want to be toned” crowd distracted while others train.
And, thank you for making such an entertaining thread. It made me laugh. A lot.

Thanks, jstreet for posting. Alot of the posters here are just talking out their ass.
Yeah i understand everyones complaint of a rude kid who just takes up a power rack if someone is needing it. If i see someone moping around looking at the rack. I offer it to them. but i dont think the amount of weight you lift should be a factor if you can do an exercise or not.
Dude for real it’s not that serious. Unless your name is Arnold you can pick what ever weight your curling off the floor.
I know you have a bad back, but if you ever squat try squating somewhere other than a power rack. It’s not to easy. Most people can’t clean, press, rest the weight on there back or front for that matter, squat, and then take the weight to the floor. That’s why we need the racks. It’s not hard to pick 135 off the floor even if your guys only weigh 150.
Oh and I know Bro a couple years ago I was 150 and curling in the rack wont make you bigger. maybe you 150lbs. guys should do squats or deads and then they wont be that small anymore.

If you’re honestly curling 165 for reps I respect that greatly. By the same token, if you’re honestly curling 165 for reps, surely you can deadlift 165 to get it into curling position. Surely.
I do wholeheartedly agree with your comment about the pseudo-squats.
Yes I honestly curl that much and yes I can deadlift it, and if I wanted to I would. Regardless, I am all about gym etiquette and I’ve worked out in gyms across the counrty for over 20 years. When I am training it is my time. I do what I have learned what works for me. Like I said I wait my turn for equiptment and use it how I see fit. Most of the gyms I worked out have multiple racks anyway. If you guys want to complain about gym etiquette there are far more annoying things that go on than you have to wait 5 to 10 minutes for me to finish my heavy curls, like the guys chit chatting between sets hogging the equiptment for 30 minutes or doing circuit training tying up multiple stations, or the absolute worst, not unracking your weights.

FINALLY!!! someone who actually realizes what they are there for! i feel the exact same way! and the “i just want to be toned” comment, i almost hear daily at the gym. 8( if only ppl did some research. THANK YOU for the very entertaining thread…
Fiftybucktrainer is obviously a troll, but there’s bullshit on both sides.
This argument isn’t about saving time in the gym. If you guys really cared so much about time, you wouldn’t have wasted 5+ pages in this thread and countless others in the squat rack curls thread.
It’s not just deadlifting the bar that’s an inconvenience. It’s finding a bar, finding some clear floor space, dragging over some disks, putting the weights on the bar while it’s on the floor. All for a quick set or two of curls. Granted, it’s not as inconvenient or impractical as trying to squat without a rack, but it’s still probably more trouble than it’s worth.
The squat rack provides a greater convenience to squatters than curlers, but it’s more convenient for both people to use it. No exercise has a supreme legitimacy in the rack – rows, squats, rack pulls, curls, hang cleans, shrugs, etc. The nature of the rack is that you can use it for many things.
There are so many other things to get worked up about in the gym that I can’t see why threads like this get so much attention.
Anyway, none of this means anything to me personally. I hardly ever see squat rack curlers, and I don’t do barbell curls as I can’t supinate my right arm much at all.
