That doesn’t erase his 50" waist especially when the guy next to him has a small waist and lats that are impressive on their own.

If you are going to knock on some OTHER competitor for a specific fault. it would help if the guy you are cheering on didn’t have the same exact fault only worse.
Don’t get me wrong, Phil def. should’ve won IMHO. I’m just saying, Jay keeps getting voted in because when you stand them side by side, he does look wider than everyone else.

Phil is ideal to me because his muscles are ROUND, nut just big and full. Everything is good on him, and his claves DESTROY Cutler’s by a long shot.

And I know his “Arms overpower his chest” but his chest is just as ig as jays.

um wut?

As an artist, my visual judgment is often based on a perception I get when I imagine how it would feel to run my hands over the surface of the figure… almost like a sculpture…to determine how it occupies space. I think one of my strengths as an artist IS this ability to form a 3D image in my mind based on that “imagined” physical perception. I know it sounds gay, especially when describing it within a BBing context, but it’s completely subjective.

That said, Phil’s physique BY FAR exceeds Jay’s in this regard. I haven’t seen such large slabs of ROUND 3D muscle since Ronnie stood up there. Sure, Jay’s outline is wider, his proportions larger… but only because his armature (a term used by sculptors when describing the basic “skeleton” they make before adding clay). Jay looks like a huge 2d cut-out.

Phil may have had less to work with frame-wise, but what he added to that frame is fully realized.
Just amazing.

This thread is being overrun by people who dont know enough about bodybuilding to make any comments at all.

Nik - Cedric is a good 4 years away from top 5 at the O. Lets see the guy qualify for the show before claiming that he needs to be a contender.

The only thing wrong with Kai this weekend was that he spilled over. That has happened to every single bodybuilder at one point or another.

You people sound like 80 year old men reminiscing about the nostalgic times of small waists and small legs. Fuck off. Its 2010. 250 is the new 235. And it has been for the past 15 years. Get over it.
Lol, I actually couldn’t care less, I just find it funny how people think Kai is the 2nd coming of Coleman when he will be 36 and without one O title. LMAO @ Cedric being 4 years away, Cedric could’ve easily qualified for the O if it wasn’t for Gaspari, even with Cedric being off . Cedric has THE best structure in bodybuilding right now, there is nobody that beats him, his only weakness is his delts and that can be easily brought up. Cedric smashes all these mammoth guts and his personality is far superior to all of the current top 5 bodybuilders.
Like he said, you don’t know what you are talking about. I’ve been telling you this for quite a while now.
Sorry bro I’ll work on my post count, I know your dedication is true to post 35,000 posts about: How no one makes progress, how much you know, how kids during your time were so much tougher, dirty bulk!!, dick riding various people that are over 300lbs, oh and never admitting your wrong because you have some sort of complex where you always need to be right. So did Roelly end up in the top 3 or was his backflip not enough to convice the judges ;)?

PS good rebuttle to what I said!
There’s no need to write more of a rebuttal. Your entire post sounds retarded to anyone who has been following bodybuilding more than you. I’m just glad I’m not the only one telling you that anymore.

I never said anything about Roelly being top three. He, like several others, get posted here so we can discuss them…and so newbs can understand who all has potential here and that not everyone even has a goal of looking like the current Mr. O. I post about them so “unknowns” get known, especially on a website that does not openly follow the contests AT ALL.

I would rather look more like Roelly does now than anything Jay Cutler has shown in the past decade.

You are the one who started talking about Kai’s waist while cheering on Cutler…when Cutler’s waist was HUGE. That is retarded. You got called on it. Deal with it.

You won’t admit you were wrong but are worried about how many times I do it?

Once again, you fail at this.
Jay’s waist is wider, Kai’s waist is bigger, what don’t you understand? Kai’s waist relaxed looks like a giant pumpkin, Jay just has a naturally wide waist, there is a difference. Clearly you know a lot about bodybuilding, so much so that it makes you too pussy to step on stage.
At first I was like okay this cat is a serious competitor, and might know what he’s talking about – then look and behold this dude has ANOTHER man’s photo as his avatar… How on earth can you call someone a pussy for not competing when you don’t even have enough balls to put your own damn picture on your avatar. You’ve got a lot of years of heavy lifting, meat and potatoes before you step up to X.

You dont think so? I dunno man during that last posedown, they seemed a lot rounder than jays

FYi, i heard that stuff tastes like booty hole.
To quote a review.

“This stuff smells like rancid meat, and tastes like blood despite the artificial flavoring. I mean that in a good way; it tastes like the blood of my enemies, fallen before me as I roam the post apocalyptic wastelands of nuclear fallout adorned in armor made of leather, fur , chains, and pieces of vehicles I’ve scavenged.”

I’m not a big follower of bodybuilding, but from what I just saw with the comparison of Jay and Phil, Cutler just looks like a powerlifter with some symmetry, Phil actually looks like a bodybuilder, and definitely has more 3D muscle.

My $.02

I can’t say that I “HATE” Jay Cutler , I think that he is " marketable"- ( white, blond, tan, not ugly, and no KNOWN crimes, perversions or other media sentionalized screw-ups), and this has and will always be an influence in the subjective world sport of Bodybuilding. If magazines and supplements stop selling, then bodybuilding as we know it will stop.

After watching the replays, I would not have him in the top 5! Just my subjective opinion.

the scoring emphasis is fucked, and BONEZ is correct, there are alot of folks posting opinions who really don’t sound as if they know much about the sport.

Jay looked better on night 2, but he faded visibly on stage on night 1. he was way off from his look in 09’.

2009 is the only year he WON the Olympia. agruement could be made for 2001 when he pushed Ronnie.

Back to why scoring emphasis is fucked, fading isn’t penalized it seems. improving a lot from day 1 to 2 doesn’t matter if your not in the first call out, it’s not as noted/noticed. by then, heavy scrutiny is on 1,2,3 etc., therefore getting bumped up isn’t as likely.

as bonez said, kai didn’t come in out of shape, he spilled over, it happen to everyone once in a while. kai might use a second set of eyes other than Oscar. while improving on night 2 Kai’s condition could still be harder. he’s never matched his condition he had in Australia 09 or that of his colorado win a few yrs back.

it’s yet to be seen whether he can do both things, be that big and peeled. everything is if if if at this point. if he does i think he could be in a league w/ dorian, ronnie, haney. but as of now he hasn’t proven he’s worthy of being mentioned in their company. however out of the current crop he is THE ONE who could fill those shoes. *noted he does need to keep his waist tight but we’ll see…

Phil looked better and his night one should have beaten jay’s night two.

Nik why don’t you post some pics of what you look like at 195lbs??? how tall are you?

actually, post them in your own thread, call it Fat to Skinny, or reversing Artem 2010. at least that kid wasn’t a prick.

I think Jay as numero uno was a fair and the correct decision. It was fucking close, reminds me of the 1999 O between Flex and Ronnie.

Jay was conditioned, he was sharp, yes not the sharpest dude on stage but he sure as hell was conditioned and he is more densely muscled than anyone on stage.

As far as Rockel and Wolf, yeah I definitely agree with those placings, Wolf looked awesome and Rockel has one of the best physiques from the front out of anyone on stage, he just need more back, if we solely based the Olympia on the front double bicep shot, Rockel would be top 3.

You have to understand that this is actually a step up in terms of hairstyles for him. Most white guys in pro bodybuilding (including Cutler) have ridiculous fucking hair. Cutler historically has weird fucking hair. For some reason that dumbass faux hawk is all the rage. 2 year old bath time hair is now popular.
I understand how ghey this post is, but I can’t be the only one who noticed the trend of shitty white dude hair in pro bodybuilding.
