The Garage Gym: Mission Accomplished

Dude, I’m totally envious of this set up. pretty sure i’d kill for it…

She is a gem…and smoking hot, while we’re at it.

But it certainly didn’t hurt that she lifts, too. She maxed out squats this morning…

If she didn’t train, I probably would have had a tough time selling her on this idea.
See next time you come home hot and sweaty from the gentleman’s club, just make sure you got some gym clothes in the gym and throw those on and throw some powder and just walk in the door like nothing is out of place. You can still slap her ass and kiss her on the cheek as you walk by and tell her “she’s next” though, that is always a nice touch when coming home.

This site primarily targets recreational strength athletes, NOT bodybuilders. If it targeted bodybuilders you’d have a bunch of people on this thread asking where the smith machine/pec deck is in the OP’s gym. Those were my thoughts when I saw because I am in the minority here.

Great setup.

You may want to consider purchasing hex platemates to add to your dumbbells. When you add more dumbbells you can purchase in 10lb increments. You only need to purchase 85 and 95 pairs and with the platemates you now have dbs from 5 - 100lb.

to No Payne No Gain

bro your goals are different in life and my goals are different in life, and as of right now with my diet the way it is (eating out all day, and when i get home either leftover pizza or chinese food, or anything microwavable), i dont think muscle would be what im putting on with my “clean diet” and as for me coming to the site well there are plenty of smart ass people here that have so much knowledge to share, real talk im just trying to stay alive as a full time college student who happens to be playing sports while working full time, and putting muscle on is not my biggest concern right now, performing better on the field is, so good luck to you and “relentless pursuit of muscle” but like i said you got your goals and i got mine

o its not that i dont like being in the weight room, i never get to use what i need and its crowded with goggly ass girls, so i feel instead of “wasting” time in the weight room i would rather spend it on the field making good use of it,

o and the time spent in the weight room didnt go to waste, i actually did put muscle on and put weight on my lifts

I never post on the forums, but I just had to tell you this is a hell of a set up. Well done.

Those pictures…just made me cum in my pants.

Man I’d just want to live in there and never leave. It’s clean, perfect and to the point, you did an amazing job designing it ESPECIALLY from a continent away. Major props!

That is a sweet gym. Worth every penny. When I have money I can dream… sigh

is your garage floor sloped, and if it is, is that an issue? was the garage finished prior to the setup began, or was that part of it?

also, what’s that, a defib on the wall?

Who do you contract for.

that is a sweet set up man
great job , looks sick

Didn’t see this mentioned, how much weight and how heavy do your db’s go up to?
530lbs of Irons
340lbs of Bumpers

The dumbbells are 5’s to 75’s in 5 pound increments. My wife and daughter also train, so I made sure to go all the way down to 5’s.

I couldn’t afford more than 75’s…I would have liked to have gone all the way to 100’s. I plan on slowly adding pairs as I can afford it…once they get above 75, they get damn expensive.

Have you considered Plate Mates? Buy 4 2.5 # plate mates, and you would only have to get dumbbells in 10 # increments. Could save you some money with the big ones.

Ohhhh right, I forgot! let me get back to my crossfit training.

It is sloped…has to be according to code, the water heater is out there. But it is very slight. I put a level on the platform to decide if I would need to actually level the platform before I went further, but the slope was just too slight to bother. You would never notice lifting. Put it this way, the bubble is still completely in between the lines on the level, it is just ever so slightly to one side.

My kick ass, awesome wife finished that floor for me while I was in Iraq. Moved everything out of the garage, completed the arduous floor prep, and laid down the finish and flakes. She even painted the walls to match the floor, too. The chick is awesome…

Maybe I should put one of those on the wall…

It’s the controls to my underground irrigation system.
