The Garage Gym: Mission Accomplished

Mac and a few others know that I’ve been deployed to Iraq for 2.5 years and just got home a couple of weeks ago. I’ve been conceptualizing this garage gym in my mind for that amount of time and specifically budgeted it into this deployment. I wanted to share it with the only people who can truly appreciate this…that would be you folks. Here are the pics…

Great setup. The collegiate racks are amazing; do you have enough clearance to do overhead movements?

This rack comes at 7’6"…which does not account for the monkey bar…that adds another 3". At that height I would not have clearance over the monkey bar for pull/chin ups. So I opted to have the rack cut to 7’. After I got it in, I realized that I lacked just a couple of inches to be able to overhead press in the rack. If you look at the pics of the rack you’ll notice that I raised it 3" by adding two 2x4’s underneath, allowing me to overhead press, but still providing enough clearance to pull/chin up.
