The Garage Gym: Mission Accomplished

Your wife must be a gem to allow all that.

Do you mind saying how much it set you back in total? It looks fucking amazing, you seem to have thought of everything.Great work. You should definately do a King of the Hill on it and charge a few people in the locality to come in and use it.
After it was all said and done, it was about $13,000.00. I extended my time in Iraq by a few months just to pay for this project. If it wasn’t for that, I never would have been able to afford this.

Nice work! What did the rack alone run you?
It was about $2,500.00. Definitely the most expensive purchase, but well worth it.

this is what i envisage my dream home gym to look like… did you build the platform that the rack is on or did you buy this aswell…
Yeah I built the platform…that part was pretty cool because I actually got to build it as opposed to just putting something together.

Do want.

She is a gem…and smoking hot, while we’re at it.

But it certainly didn’t hurt that she lifts, too. She maxed out squats this morning…

If she didn’t train, I probably would have had a tough time selling her on this idea.

Awesome setup man. Thank you again for your service!

Jealousy alert

An amazing setup, one day if I ever get the space and money I am gonna try and set up a home gym.

Now all I need is a garage, 13000 dollars, and to live in the US…

Westcoast is right. You could charge people for your services. Kinda like an interior designer that serves a purpose. That is honestly maybe the best weightroom I’ve seen, home or otherwise. Didn’t see this mentioned, how much weight and how heavy do your db’s go up to?

well color me jealous

530lbs of Irons
340lbs of Bumpers

The dumbbells are 5’s to 75’s in 5 pound increments. My wife and daughter also train, so I made sure to go all the way down to 5’s.

I couldn’t afford more than 75’s…I would have liked to have gone all the way to 100’s. I plan on slowly adding pairs as I can afford it…once they get above 75, they get damn expensive.

daaaaaamn! i mean looking at that actually makes me wanna workout, i go to a college gym cause i play sports, and i “have” to spend time in the weight room,

but damn! that is a piece of heaven! fuck it has everything, bands, chains, GHR

i guess you had a happy chirstmas, but very fucking nice!

Why don’t you just get an awesome pair of Oly DBs and put plates on them for 75+?

That is so sick. I have dreams of building a shed/garage just for my home gym. Very cool man.

very well done. That is awesome and I would certainly pay to use it.

…dude…you say you “have” to spend time in the weight room…what the hell are you doing on this site??? This site is for people that love everything that has to do with lifting, and enjoy every minute of it. Hints the “intelligent and relentless pursuit of muscle”. Get off this site and stop wasting your time. Anyway, aside from that this gym is amazing, its a real work of art. And thank you JP for the time you spent protecting our country.

Please don’t derail this thread as its kicking total ass so far. Although this site targets bodybuilders and wants only bodybuilders of that sort, it’s not going to happen so deal with it.

On point: wow, thats an amazing gym. $13,000.00 is a lot of dough to fork over but it’s definitely going to be worth it in the long run. I’m extremely jealous

Im out in surfers in australia your home gym is a better setup than a few of the full clubs I checked out, One of them didnt even have a rack and wanted $65/month? Fuck that!
