I’m at 220 and can only get 8 pullups with just bodyweight. My chinups are better. It’s a bitch with alot of lower body mass.

I am pretty bad at benching. Long(er) arms than most and weak triceps. Trying to correct that, but for now, that’s what I need to work with.
Heavy doubles and triples will help and blasting the shit out of your tri’s on close-grip.

Unless he tested that many people several times over, and only one per ten thousand could do it, or whatever, it’s not a true number. That would be like me saying “there’s exactly 1,000,000,000,000,003 planets total.” How did i come to that number? I just picked one, based off the assumption that there are a lot of planets. If he had said, only a small percentage of people can perform a one handed pullup, it would have been more accurate.
I don’t honestly know Hanley’s opinion on Dr. Charles, so i couldn’t tell you it. With Poloquin having credentials like that, do you really think he needs you to “watch his back” when people disagree with one of his phrases?

I’m around 210-215 right now. I’ve always been good at pull-ups for some reason. I’d like to be able to do 8 widegrip with 135lbs hanging.

That’s a shitty attitude. Everyone has to start somewhere. Even if your not just starting and you’ve been doing it for a few years you don’t have to beat yourself up. Plus like I said earlier it’s all relative. If you compare yourself to people on here who have been at it for years and years or pros of course you won’t measure up.

Yeah, technically, I’ve been training for more than 3 years, and more than half of that time is wasted… I’ve doing things right for about… 1 1/3 of a year, first with a westside template, now I do Bill Starr’s Heavy Light Medium.
Either way, I’m extremely weak.
