The Cordoza GHR (TM)

ok one more question for today

anyone have any comments on how Brad performs the GHR with an ankle strap and high pulley? He did a video of it (which i cant find the url to) in his photos/thread…

i don’t do GHR’s (natural or on a GHR bench), my gym doesn’t have one. so i’ve always done other movements…

but i was wondering how this type of GHR rates up there with the GHR’s that westside etc perform? so any comments on this by anyone that does them this way?

i’m thinking of buying an ankle strap to perform them on the high pulley (my gym doesn’t even have ankle straps ehe)… so any comments on how effective this method of perming the GHR is would be great!

description of b.c’s ghr on pulley thing: set ankle strap on high pulley setting, put ankle in it, kick leg back in GHR motion ← for those of you who don’t know what im referring to

ok cya

I believe Brad was calling this a reverse hyper not GHR.

hehe

hehe

ok so replace GHR with REVERSE_HYPER, same q :frowning:

i meant reverse hyper

stupid face

I tried them last Friday and I thought they were really good. If your cable is like the one that I used, the only hard part is getting the ankle strap on and off.

As to how they compare to a real reverse hyper, I can’t say because I’ve never tried one. I would imagine it would be pretty close, but people who do use a real reverse hyper would probably say that it isn’t nearly as good as the real thing. For me, I’ll keep doing them and I feel it’s an OK replacement.

I would think that this would be best used as a substitute for when a reverse hyper is not available. This is better than doing nothing.

Judging by Brad Cordoza’s Superhuman strength levels, I would say that this must be a great exercise to add to a hamstring/glute routine.

i figured i would try them out, im just going to use a leahter belt for a strap. we have no reverse hyper blah

yes sully i was thinking that by doing this cable reverse hyper i could achieve superhuman cordoza strength in a couple of weeks.

did u ever fall brad ray, and get all tangled, and people at the gym laugh at you? i could just imagine that happening to me! ha

this exercise is alot diff than just putting it on the low cable… i imagine my last rep, trying to unleash it, and dangling from my ankle, that would be funny

Yea, watch out when putting it on and taking it off. I had a couple close calls. I did them after some Bulgarian Split-Squats and my hamstrings were shaking when I was trying to put the strap on.

I would use a regular reverse hyper when available, but if you don’t have one around definitely throw these in on your lower pull days. Anyone know how to post video now that the site has changed ?
