Tanning tablets

Hi all:- Anyone, boy or girl have any experience, good or bad with tanning tablets. I dont tan easily so thought I would give them a go this summer. What do you think??

If you mean trisoralen, it works by causing
damage to your DNA. It is not an advisable
means of improving your tanning.

He could also be referring to canthaxanthin, available over-the-counter at some health food stores. It is a food coloring additive that’s not exactly legal for tanning purposes, but seems to work for some people. You have to load it for a week or so and then maintain on a lower daily dosage. It turns most people more orange than tan, especially the palms of your hands.

Ya, your palms, toenails, fingernails, and most importantly your pee-pee, It’s great stuff.

Like you, I don’t tan easily. I’m a ghost. However, I’m not willing to mess with any dodgy tablets. Nor do I want to go with a fake tan. They just look, well… fake?!

I think I’m going to end up in a tanning salon when summer rolls around, because the Aussie beaches aren’t the same when you’re a ghost

I’d go for self-tanning lotions.

I took the pills once. My skin turned an odd reddish color, including the palms of my hands and the bottoms of my feet.

I have found Tyrosine indispensable for me living in Florida. I am less susceptible to burning and my meager tanning ability is noticeably improved.

Thanks for the gen. Actually it was the L-Tyrosine I was thinking of. Big Dave? what sort of colour did you become. golden, brown, orange yellow or what? Paleface.

I’ve actually had success with a combination of a little canthaxanthin and just a few (2-3) tanning booth sessions. I never took enough of the pills to turn palms orange, but just enough to kick start my own tanning mechanism. BTW, I discovered this purely by accident one year and its worked ever since.

Tyrosine doesn’t turn you any color other than your own natural color. It works by increasing the melanin in your skin if I remember correctly. You won’t turn into a bronze god but for me I do tan a little deeper and I am less susceptible to burning. It also makes my tan last longer, and I am the type who could quite possibly burn every saturday at the beach and be white by the following friday if it weren’t for the tyrosine supplementation. If I forget to take tyrosine on say thursday or friday and then get a lot of sun on saturday, I will undoubtably get burned.

Good comments Big Dave. Thanks for it. Surprised we hav’nt heard more from the girls!!
