Tanning Pills

Have any of your use tanning pills with any success. I have gotten the prescription ones, and had good sucess with them but i am out. Does anybody know of any over the counter pills that work well? Thanks

Be careful with the prescription tanning pills (Trisolaren)…from what I hear they can be hard on the liver.

There are a couple of natural options available. First you could just eat a few carrots each day. The carrots are high in beta-carotene which is stored in the fat layer just under your skin. The skin is translucent so after a few weeks you’ll appear to have a tan…although an orangy kind’ve tan. There is another carotenoid in the carotene family called Canthaxanthin…it is the red containned in lobster, apples, or any dark vegetable or animal…100% natural just like Beta-Carotene. You oughta be able to find the canthaxanthin taps at health food stores or tanning shops. I’ve used them in the past and the only bad thing is not only will you appear to be tan everywhere on your body but the palms of your hands and feet as well

I STRONGLY suggest that YOU DO NOT BY CANTHANXYN, the pills may be red, but you will turn EVERYTHING orange. You will also find that anyone wearing decent shades with UV blocking protection will laugh uncontrollably around you (you will look flourescent). It took a good year before the shit cleared from under my finger and toenails.

Actually, the safety of Canthaxanthin is still a questionable issue. There’s a study done on Canthaxanthin printed in the Vitreoussociety website (with an “.org” not “com”) that reports patients receiving “refractile deposits” in their retinas, causing one woman (who used canthaxanthin during two summers) to ocassionally see white flashes in her vision. However, the study said patients who took in 3 grams or less of canthaxanthin were less likely to develop the deposits in the retina. Search the website’s journal articles to for the article (with photos).

There are different types and brands of canthaxanthin…some of it will turn you more orangy…I forgot to mention that
