T-Nationers, Sound Off!

Good stuff PGA.

I would like to see a Powerlifting Thread. Geared and non geared.

That is my selfish interest.

I would like to see Biotest sell more products. A Greens +, A Fruits +, a Multi-V.
I raised this issue with TC a couple of years ago, I think, and he said they want to keep their products to more on the cutting edge. The ones you mention tend to be more commodity-type supps.

I haven’t paid for shipping on any orders in my three years here - ever. As for a discount on the supps - they give that also. Look at buying their products from somewhere else and you will see the discounts offered here. You actually save a lot of $ buying through here.

There are a lot of recipes floating around here. There is a thread right now in the figure competitors forum that has numerous recipes and pictures. Berardi also wrote an article a couple of years back with recipes. You just need to search around a little. But, you’re right, a forum for just recipes might not be a bad idea.

How old? 40 or 50?

I would be happy if I could have an article written by someone over 60/70 who still trains. I would use it as an example for my parents.

If they are gonna charge for the site, maybe give free shipping or a discount on the supps.

Recipes are always good also.

I understand about the supps. Just be nice to have a one stop shop and I suppose if they did I wouldn’t have to worry about the shipping.

I’m an older guy (45) so I don’t get into a lot of the supps on here. I’ve tried a few and stick with the ones that work for me and my goals. (A powerlifter who wants to lose weight! OMG.)

I envision more of a tree approach to the forums. I’m not interested in MMA articles, but I understand a vast majority of people do. Its all good.

You’d have a Forum called Competition and then subtopics for MMA, Powerlifting, Strongman, Bodybuilding…etc… In recipes you could have steak, chicken…blah, blah and maybe a breakdown of nutrients and stuff.

I liked the way Chad Waterbury’s Muscle Revolution is broken down. Especially the workouts…by goal.

I refer to it almost everyday. Much like I do this site. I think TC is on the right path with wanting some kind of reorg…I agree about what you’re saying about a search and I’ve done that and found good stuff, but remove the politics and sex and get a life stuff to another part and keep the irongame stuff to the forefront I say.

I don’t see too much pissin goin on in the Strength and Over 35 forums. And I also agree with the guy who wants to see more old guy articles.

There’s normally something for everyone here.

Thanks for the feedback!

I’ll echo more from Tim Patterson and Cy Willson (is he still around?). I love the science around what goes on in our bodies at a cellular level when speaking of diet and supplementation.

Great timing, Zap; I’m just finishing up an article I’ll be submitting shortly to TC for approval:

Senior Strength
Guide to Health for the Old Geezers

Part 1: Making the Most out of Your Zimmer Frame

What about sport specific training routines by Joe DeFranco? Maybe he could have an article on how he addresses different weaknesses in athletes.

agreed. At 43 now, I know my body reacts much differently to training and nutrition than at 23.

ditto, i love reading Cy Willson articles. More of him would be great.

It also would be cool if their was like sub-categories, in strength sports. Like Olympic Lifting, Powerlifting, etc.

I’ll second this request.

As many of us move through our 40’s and upwards, and I’ll take the liberty to say I’m speaking for the majority, the accumulated affect of years of lifting require that we re-evaluate our methods/goals. I?d like to hear what the experts have to say about this.

While there is always a bunch of up and coming young guys just starting out in lifting, there is also a bunch of us older, beat up guys who can’t get away with (recover from) the maniac routines anymore but still want some cutting edge training advice more specific to our needs.

More T-Nation radio interviews please.

Check out the “over 35 lifter” forum. Masters training by a guy named “Old Navy” is a great thread. Real motivator.

Not an article but filled with good stuff.

Yes! I second that.

Tim Patterson

In a conversation I had with one Coach, he referred to Tim as the “Steve Jobs” of Health and Fitness, especially in its transition to the Internet.

While the mags are struggling economically, and many supplement companies have made only minimal inroads into Internet Commerce, he understood the potential more than ten years ago.

I don’t know about you guys, but the month (or couple of weeks?) he spent last year with members was VERY enlightening, especially with his look at the Supplement Industry.

A “Patterson Fix” about twice a year would be cool!

Speaking of parallels between Jobs and Patterson, I’d like to see a Tim Patterson keynote once a year, Anaconda would be his iPhone.

A well deserved thread PGA.

add kelly baggett to the staff. I would love to see a kelly baggett locker room.

I like these ideas. And, of course, I’d like to see more MMA articles; both interviews with fighters and articles by MMA instructors/trainers.
Asking for more seems a little selfish as this sort of info, by rights could be charged decent money for. I’ve actually paid to join a couple of strength and conditioning sites only to never find an article worth reading.

But… A few MMA articles would be awesome. It might be bad timing but one with GSP and his training would be much appreciated.

40 plus. They could talk about the reality of building muscle at this age as well as training around injuries, recovery etc.

Ditto on the 40-plus; maybe a roundtable with authors who have worked with older lifters.

Ditto on a Tim Patterson/TC “State of T-Nation” every 6-12 months.

Update on Anaconda.

It would make me really, really, really excited if CT wrote some kind of Oly Lifting article…
