My goal probably seems laughable to most around here, but I’m currently trying to get my weight up to 200 lbs. I’m currently sitting around 185 at 6’0. I just finished my first week of BBB (Thanks MODOK, Trav, and anyone else I pestered for advice!) and I have high hopes that I’ll be able to pack on some weight in the upcoming months.
Dude I was in the same place 24 months ago.

I just creeped your pictures. You’ve made some nice gains! Excellent work.
I want to complete this 18 week run through BBB and then get some pictures up on here. I’ve got to tell you, T-Nation has been such an instrumental resource in helping me stop dicking around in the gym and actually start training with some smarts. Good luck to everyone with their goals. I look forward to hearing your success stories in a couple of months!
Those pics were after 9-10 months of training. I look pretty much the same just bigger now, a little fat, but it’s a means to an end.
Good luck man.
“Fat for purpose” If You see that fat gain and you slow down, you’re done, just stop now. It’s good to see that some realize this.
I’ve always been a skinny kid. Now that I’m putting on some weight (see: muscle), members of my family are commenting how I’m getting fat. We’ve all see those failed bulks where the person turns into a slob with no appreciative gains of muscle. I can assure you that this isn’t the case with me. While I have put on some fat around the midsection, I’m getting bigger everywhere. Their comments are in one ear and out the other though. They don’t understand how this game works. I’m going to continue eating and adding weight to the bar. I’ve got a goal to reach.
Finally settled on concrete goals. I will get up to 230 pounds (been stuck at 220 for quite some time) and will get to 19 inches for my arms (I’m about 1/4 inch away).
No, I’m not terribly lean, but I want to keep gaining.

'A’ta boy. If ever you feel you’re putting on too much fat, take a step back and look at your diet, something can ALWAYS be fixed: Timing of carbs and nutrients, implementing of more healthier fats, etc

Thanks for the advice. I’m adding in more cardio in the form of HIIT to keep the fat gain in check.

Thats fine so long as you dont go overboard with cardio. Muscle is built with excess calories, if you dont have excess calories, you dont build muscle. So sacrifice cardio for muscle gain, keep an eye on your weight gain, and if you arent putting on weight over a couple weeks, start dropping cardio sessions.

Definitely, I’ve also added more carbs into my diet just to play it safe. The past couple of months have been iffy with the scale, my measurements (arms, chest, legs etc…) would go up and I’d lose scale weight, gain some more then go back to 220.

Yes i have! My legs had definitely gotten thicker and wider, and i broke that 250lb wall. Still working on my vacuum, but that’ll come more with cutting.
Nice work. Keep grinding away, you’ll surpass your initial goals. It’s all about attitude and you’ve got the right kind.

Forgot about this thread. Hit my goal of BW 240 like 6 weeks ago, now onwards to 265ish before dieting it all off again. That gets a combined smily/sad face (

ANyway. how do your elbows feel? I couldnt Really say for certain, but it looked like you were locking out at the top, that could be bad joo joo for your elbows. Also, you use those sleeves for lifting support, or ?

You can’t bring your bag on the floor? Blows man, your gym is shitty.
My elbows are good now that I got the sleeves. Yeah I’m locking out, it’s a “rest” for me at the top. Sleeves are for elbow tendinitis. I saved the XXL’s i grew out of for when I cut. The XXXL’s are the shit, I don’t need to pull them off and on between sets. But any good pump and my hands turn purple.

Bah i dont need a gym bag. I just walk in, my towel hanging from my shorts, my wrist wraps on my wrists, and my dip belt hanging from my neck, and im golden. Id try and scrap that lockout rest though. Could be bad news bears, especially if you already have tendinitis. Lol and fuck that man, id be pulling those off after every set…Purple Hands N shit…
I hate to throw this in, now, because I didn’t put in my bid at the beginning of the thread…
BUT, when I picked up decline benching again (June, at 205 lbs) I told myself I’d get 300 by the end of the year. Right now I’m up to 260 x 2 (hopefully x 3 or 4 after today,) and planning on getting it by September 1st. By the way, if it happens, that will also be two months into my diet.
Also, I started with (elevated heel to focus on quads) Smith front squats near the same time, at like 225 when I began, and am now getting 300 for reps. Things are going well.
