Summer Time Goals 2010

We did this last year, and even though we had 6,000,000 people put up goals and only like 4 of us put up results, I liked having the specific goals in my head and out in public for accountability.

So…

  1. 365x20 Back Squat - I got 285x20 last week, and I feel like I might be shooting for the stars here a bit, but fuck it. Go big or go the fuck home.

  2. DB Press the 125’s for a sloppy 3 - Clean 3 might be asking too much given #3 (I can get the 115’s for a cleanish 3 after inclines on a good day, so…)

  3. Smith Incline & SHIP 180lbs (bar=0) for 8-10 reps on each - Should be easiest of the goals listed

  4. Get a new weight set point of 255-260 (+15lbs) without getting as sloppy as I got last year. And If I do get sloppy at least 270 lol.

  5. Strict form T-Bar 6 plates. I can do 5 now, but not for a ton of reps.

Threads like this only work if you have a proven track record.

Otherwise, it will only get 5 billion posts from people who will never come close to those goals.

I tend to think talk is cheap. I think this thread would be a hell of a lot more interesting if people posted video or pics when they actually reach their goals instead of listing their goals out randomly right now.

A whole thread of AFTERS would be cool as shit.

  1. 500x1 deadlift- that would be bw x 2.5

  2. 90x12 wt chins

  3. start front squatting

  4. find a new gym that has Db’s over 100lbs

  5. 100x35 per arm kroc rows

I mean, I hear you, and you are right. But I got a lot of benefit from last years.

So even if there is only 3 or 4 of us throwing up videos come September, at least 3 or 4 people didn’t fall through the cracks.

Plus, I’m trying to whore out my youtube vids. Not enough views man, not enough views.

My goals for this summer -

  1. Work on my proportions- I have wide shoulders, and my legs are getting wider. A bit more and ill have a great “X” going on. Also want to round out my rear head delt, and get my tris a bit bigger(namely my lateral head).

  2. Work on Vacuums- Revive this lost art. Vacuums are great, it expands your rib cage, flaring your serratus and pectorals out, shrinking your waist, and giving an appearance of a greater “X”

  3. squeeze out any more lbs i can get- Ive hit the 250lb wall, and i cant break it. Its been months. Ive thrown extra food at it, ive thrown junk food at it, just cant seem to break it.

My competition isnt til March, so i dont have to start my cutting phase til the end of November, i still have some time, so we’ll see what i can do…

  1. Lean up by mid October.
  2. Incline press the 60kg dbs by December. Currently on the 50s…
  3. 600lb dead by December
  4. 500lb squat by December

Assuming I’m able to progress while dieting down.

My most immediate goal is to drop to about 250 or 255 by the end of July (about 20-25lb drop). I hold on to a lot of water weight so hopefully this shouldn’t be too hard. This will allow me to do a water cut to the 231 for my next comp on July 30/31.

After that, I would like to be able axle C&P bodyweight and get a few reps with the stupid 21inch 300lb Atlas Stone in my friend’s basement. I missed 305 at comp b/c of tacky not mixing well with sweat.

These were my goals for the year: Bench 350, Squat 500, DL 550, OH 225

I would like to improve my woefully pathetic arms and shoulders.

Have Celtics on for a special interview.

Oh right goals.

  1. Get a Career
  2. Reach 180 lb +16 lb
  3. Get 300 Bench +110 lb, 400 Squat +100 lb, 500 Dead +200 lb
  4. Curl 135 on the EZ-Bar for reps + 40 lb

These goals are hard, I really have no idea if I’ve set them too high, too low, or what.

If he is anywhere remotely close to me, I would lift with him and film it for sure.

abz by august!

A clean 405 x 1 bench, current best is 385 last month, continue to get leaner…

  • 500 sumo deadlift…will post video when it happens

I’m doing IBB (figured I’d give it a shot). Not quite sure how to base my goals off that… I’d like to finally get passed 230 lbs. I have a log up, and have been taking pics for anyone interested.

good luck i think you could probably do it now depends on your warm up tho.
imo i think to many people shooting for a double or triple over exert themselves when building up to the final weight.

in short are you one that feels you have to do 135 as part of your warm up?
