With the media blitz that has accompanied Rafael Palmeiro’s alleged use of steroids, I want to understand more about them in the first place…
I am against steroids being permissible in any major league sport, simply because of the advantages it gives users over non-users. But I am curious on all fronts, what exactly do steroids do? Are they as bad for you as the media, every doctor (seemingly), and the Major Leagues say? Or is this hype over a drug that does not have such serious after effects, and can be used for years and not kill you with tumors and cancer? Do you think it has a place in baseball? Help me out …the floor is open.
